Episode synopsis TL;DR:

We explore three practical things you can do everyday to become more spiritual. We also examine the doing versus being paradox and how to crack it. I provide three live exercises (eyes closed and relaxed) to help you form a better understanding, through experience, of core spiritual approaches. I also read out an inspiring poem and discuss the need for more humility. There is a lovely chat about your higher-self and also Jesus, who both spiritually guide you. At the end there’s several minutes of bonus discussion which wasn’t in the live show.

Episode transcript:

Hello, this is Mark, and what you’re about to listen to is episode 61, which was recorded on 29 May 2025.

Now, if you remember back to when I first started season two, I promise that one of the things I deliver on is more practical exercises. So I’m really pleased to say that in this episode there’s not one, two, but actually three exercises that I’m going to invite you to kind of close your eyes, get a bit stiller and enjoy so that you can experience the things that we’re talking about for yourself. Now, the best way to do this is to pop headphones on if you can, and be in an environment where it’s safe to close your eyes and give your full attention. So ideally, I wouldn’t listen to this episode while driving a car. Wait till you can give it your full attention and that way it’s safe to do so. But also importantly, you’ll get the most from the exercises.

If we were to sum up this episode, it’s all about you becoming more aligned with your higher self and therefore even more spiritual. And importantly, this is focused on practical things that once you’re aware of them, you can put into play in everyday life. So if this sounds useful, empowering, then I invite you to join me as we enjoy together this latest episode. God bless.

There we go. Good evening, everyone. This is Mark from the Wayback Group and this is indeed a live show. And to prove that it’s live, I forgot to turn the mic on. And it is the 29th of May 2025. And this is episode 61. And the main topic of today is going to be three steps to unlock your spiritual potential.

And these aren’t the only steps, but these are three things to consider. And if you’re interested in being more spiritually awake, then anything that helps us to be more spiritual, or as I’ve put it here, unlock our spiritual potential is a good thing. But I, I preface it by saying, look, there’s no magic wand, there’s no shortcut, there’s no hack. And anytime people are talking in those terms, I’d be very, very weary. Spirituality is, is life. Once you’re, once you start spiritually awaken, you realize how important it is. And there is no magic wand or pill or button to press or secret hack or mudra or stance or anything like that. That’s going to bypass the learning.

So what we’re going to be sharing today, it really is, is three. Three things that you probably, maybe haven’t considered up till now. That if you bring into your conscious awareness can actually help you to become more spiritual. And that’s a good thing, hopefully. So let’s have a look at what we’re actually going to be doing looking into today. And the goal is to seek the truth and speak the truth.

And as ever, you know, if you’re listening again on podcast, then thank you. And anything that I refer to visually, don’t worry, there will be pictures that you can get to just follow the link in the podcast description.

But this is what we’ve got coming up for tonight. So we’ve got some announcements and then where to get bonus info and we’ll be looking at a bit of poetry as well.

And then we’ll be getting into the topic of being versus doing some reading from the that we do each week. And there’s going to be three throughout today, there’s going to be three different kind of exercises where I’m going to ask you to become Stiller and I’ll guide you through these exercises.

So that’s something really cool to look forward to.

But we’re going to start with the announcements.

So let me just bring this up.

Oh, I didn’t bring up what I wanted.

This one will do it. So what a few things to announce. First of all, there is a new spiritual documentary which I’m in the planning stages of and there’s an article that I’ve written here just talking about it and I’ll just share this very quickly.

This is a quote from the article where I’m talking about the upcoming documentary. So my initial findings from spiritual research I’ve already done on this topic has surprised me being both unexpected and further reaching than I first thought. This is likely to shake things up a bit.

And basically I started looking into a topic that a number of people have asked me to look into and I realized, wow, this is actually much bigger.

It probably deserves a bit more dedication and time and research. And so it’s going to be done as a full feature length documentary.

And the last documentary that I did was the Stonehenge one. So it will be done in a similar style and of seeking the truth.

So I’ll put a link to this documentary, but I just wanted to give you the heads up. Now the other thing that I wanted to give you a heads up on is this is the Zaretti.com website and this is kind of the place where you can engage with me as an author and a podcaster and stuff. So separate from the Wayback Group website, but still very much all connected with that work. And so, for example, here you can see the that I’ve written and it’s about these books that the next kind of announcement is, is coming to you hot off the press. So basically I publish with Amazon prime and not by Amazon Prime. I publish of Amazon, kdp Kindle Direct Publishing, and it is a way of self publishing and up till now has worked really, really well.

I think I’ve been with them since 2017, but they’ve just announced across the board that any books that fall under 9.99, which is about 7.99 for the UK market, any books that fall under that price, they will, they, they’re slashing the amount of money they give to the author by 10%, which is a massive cut. And it’s not, I’m not going to get into the politics of it. It doesn’t seem justifiable because they make their money no matter what, but it seems like they, they’re not really interested in the cheaper books. And cheap doesn’t always mean that it doesn’t have value.

So all the books that I’ve currently got published on Amazon are not for profit, which means I make a few pence on each one. And that money goes back into the way Back to support this live show and all the other work that I do, including things like the documentaries.

So the fact that Amazon have basically decided to penalize people like me who don’t overprice their books and slash the amount of money we’re getting means that I’m reviewing the whole situation. And that means I may be going to a different publisher. If I do that, then I’ve got to republish, which means it may be an opportunity to revisit some of these books. And for example, the Way Back the Six Virtues, I’m in the process of evaluating whether I’ll do a new version. So in other words, Edition two or Edition three of these books, Stonehenge into the Light and the Spiritual Life Explained books I wouldn’t touch because they, they, they’re fine the way they are. The Way Back the Six Virtues. So much has changed since I first wrote that book. A deeper understanding and much more guidance. And so I’d like to maybe do a new version of that book. And obviously that’s a big undertaking on top of doing the documentary, the live shows, the podcasts and everything else. So this is just kind of a heads up that this might happen. And then one of the other things I’m going to be looking at is whether we can actually sell the books, print on demand, direct from the Wayback website or from the zti.com website, cutting out Amazon basically, and therefore cutting out the middleman. And that way we can keep the prices low, but still, still offer the books not for profit and still make a little bit so that we can support all the work that we do. So that was the second. The announcements that I wanted to make. Now, some of that you may have heard already.

Oh, the third announcement, and this is more just a. Thanks. So one of the guys who watches the show often gave me some feedback that the audio is normally quite quiet. So hopefully what you’re finding tonight is that the audio is a bit louder so you don’t have to crank up your headphones so much.

And I really do value that kind of feedback where someone says, you know, it’s a bit quiet, I’m struggling to hear it and I’ll do my best and so thank you. So that’s another announcement is you should find that your audio levels are higher. And also someone gave me feedback back on the podcast a while back. So all of the season two podcasts are produced at a higher loudness level so that if you’re listening in your car or with background noise, you should still be able to hear it very, very clearly. So these are just kind of down to a practical announcements, but I wanted to get them out the way. And you, you may have heard at least one of these announcements if you listened to the podcast. And what happened is with the last podcast, I say if I go to that one, which is this one, you can see here that it says with over 10 minutes of bonus content.

Now, at the end of that podcast, I was reviewing it and I thought, oh, I should have said this and I should have said that. And so I, in the, in a production of the podcast, I recorded an extra, I think it’s about 11 minutes of content, and put it into the podcast. And it struck me that’s because this is a live show and I’ve got, I’ve got some notes over there, but it generally is unscripted. Then I may miss things or I may have insights that come afterwards. And so what I’m going to do from now on, when there’s a need, I’m not, I’m not going to do it unless it’s needed. But if something comes up and I go, oh, I wish I’d put that in the live show, I’m going to put it in the podcast as bonus content.

And so the podcast really is kind of Value add. It’s not just a direct carbon copy of the live show. It now will hopefully give you further insights, further content, and also quite often I’ll produce specific artwork to demonstrate or describe things that I couldn’t during the live show. So I definitely say, if you haven’t checked out the podcast, it’s worth a second look, or more precisely, a listen. And it’s just another resource. And one of the things that’s great about the podcast is you can actually download it and therefore have it offline. And, you know, should the Internet ever disappear or our website disappear or something like that, at least then you’ve got it as an MP3.

And, yeah, that’s great.

So that’s where to get bonus information. And the next thing is. I wanted to share a little bit of poetry.

I know this is not something we normally do, but I found this in a drawer. And it doesn’t matter if you can’t see it, it’s written in pencil. So let’s see if I can. There we go. And I’ll read it out to you. Now, this wasn’t mine, and the person who wrote this was one of our teachers and who sadly passed away last year and is extremely missed. And they were a wonderful person.

But I found this. I was clearing out the drawer in the lounge, and the lounge is where we used to do and in fact, still do do our meetups and meditation groups and healing groups and things like that. And I know it’s this person because I recognize their handwriting, but I can’t date it. But on the back there’s a bit of a clue because it says August 2012. So it’s written on the back of some kind of local event flyer, which I think, because the topic that they’re talking about is meditation, and that’s something we used to do a lot more of back. Back in those days. This is probably from around about 2012, maybe 2014, 15, that kind of period. And it was right at the bottom of a draw.

And I’d like to share it with you.

Deep down inside, deep into stillness where there is nothing to do and nowhere to go.

I release all thoughts.

I am at peace.

Light and love sustain me.

And that’s it. It’s really simple.

But I just love the fact that I stumbled across this and I did. I did kind of go inside and check whether it would be appropriate to share this. And it was a strong yes. And it’s almost like even now, after the. Even though they’re no longer with us down here, we’re still being taught, we’re still being inspired and what a wonderful gift. So I’ve put that poem on our website and I’ll put a link to it in the description if you want to go back and, and read it again. But what a lovely little thing. And I just love that.

And you know, if people who, if you listening now are ever inspired and you’ve written a poem that describes your stillness or things you realized on your journey following the way back, then send it to me, email it to me and if with your permission, I’ll share it with others on this show. I think it’s a lovely thing to be able to do.

So that takes us nicely onto the next thing, which is being versus doing now.

And then we’re going to do the other stuff. So being versus doing. If we go back to episode 59, then we were talking about can we be closer to God? And I’m not going to go into it too much, but I gave, I shared insights from, from nine other spiritual people of what they do.

And there was a long list, I’ve got it on the screen here and I’ll share it, you know, a link to this in the description. But basically there was a long list of things that these different spiritual people do to be more spiritual.

And so what a lovely kind of insight.

And there was a second list, so something like 30 items or certainly roundabout, that kind of ballpark.

And following on from that, we were having a discussion in one of our kind of get together groups and people were reflecting on that because there was a lot of things, here’s things that you can do and that, you know, there’s the second half of the list there you can see there’s lots of things there. And someone said, but how do you do without doing to be still you’ve got to do. I’m trying to find that balance. And I get where they’re coming from because it’s that it’s the same paradox when I was learning to meditate and when I’m teaching people to meditate that we had to face, which is you give people instruction and guidance and that’s all doing stuff like close your eyes, sit still.

You know, you might say something like, you want to become stiller.

And they say, okay, you’re telling me what to do, but how do I actually do it without doing. Because the moment you are doing something, then you’re not being still.

And it’s, it’s what I call, it’s kind of like the, the ultimate paradox. So the analogy is trying to meditate versus meditation. So when people first learn to meditate, and, you know, I’ve explained elsewhere that you don’t need to meditate to be spiritual, but it is a nice way of understanding this paradox.

So someone’s giving you some instructions on how to meditate. And it might be something simple like circular breathing, but it’s all about trying to be still.

And so the person sits there and they go. And they’re talking to themselves and they’re saying, right, I am. I am being still.

I have my eyes closed. I am sat still, I am meditating. But all the time they’re not, because they’re just having that internal conversation with themselves.

And the way I kind of describe overcoming that is to hold the space.

Okay, and what that.

Well, it’s not something that I can easily say. What that means is this. So the easiest way is for me to do an exercise. So this is actually the first exercise.

So hopefully you’re sitting comfortably. Hopefully you’re not driving a car or anything. Right now, we’re not going to meditate, but we are going to get still, and I’m going to ask you to give your attention to this, which means closing your eyes would be ideal. So if it’s safe to do so, then please take a deep breath and just close your eyes.

Now, we’re not aiming to meditate, but we’re aiming to be present.

So I just want you to notice because it’s called holding the space.

So right now you can hear my voice.

You’re probably aware of the chair you’re sitting on, or the bean bag or whatever, wherever you are supporting you and the space that you’re sitting in, the room. Maybe you’re in a vehicle, maybe you’re in a public place, but you’re in a space that’s the space on the outside.

Now, the goal is to be stiller.

But everything, every thing, takes you away from that stillness or can take you away from that stillness.

For example, when I talk, you hear my voice. And when I stop talking, then you’ll hear your own voice.

But in the gaps between my voice and your voice is the space that contains them both.

When you.

If you imagine, for example, you’re going into a swimming pool, if you move quickly, you create ripples, so any movement disturbs the peace, just as any thought fills the space.

So holding the space is learning how to not strive, not push, not rush, not want, not look, seek, or try, but to simply be present and aware of the space. Not the words, not the thoughts, but what will happen is that these thoughts will be there, sounds will be there, sensations will be there, and that’s okay.

Holding the space means that in a non doing sort of way, you bring it back to your awareness of the space that contains everything.

And I once, years ago, in my lounge in Canterbury, when I used to teach there, I had a big fish tank.

And I’d say to people, what did you see?

And some people would describe the plants or the fish or the bubbles or the gravel, but no one ever said water.

And yet the thing that touched everything, the thing that supported everything, and the thing that allowed everything else to be there in harmony was the water that filled the tank.

Holding the space is giving your attention to the metaphoric water, not the things that move within it. The fish will always be there, the thoughts will always be there. And that’s okay, because the more you give yourself to the space and the idea of holding it is finding that moment.

It’s a bit like if you’re about to think the moment before you think and just holding that moment, you know, a thought might be coming, but you hold.

Not straining, not trying. You just hold the moment before the thought.

You breathe more gently, you become stiller.

Any ripples, you allow them, any movement, you allow it.

The space isn’t touched by these things.

And so it’s becoming more peaceful, more gentle, more present, more accepting, not striving.

And when I’m not talking, you can notice what it’s like.

And when I am talking, you can notice the contrast.

And the next time I’m quiet, you can notice that which didn’t change.

Whether there’s sound or stillness, there is something that is constant.

Hold that space and you can bring your attention back.

And it’s just a simple exercise.

You have to become it, you have to experience it. So my goal here was just simply to start to give you a little taster and you can experience it and develop that for yourself from your own experience.

And that is the point. All spirituality is experiential. So we can talk about space, we can talk about inner stillness, but it’s the experience of it that has value, not the talking. The talking simply points you hopefully in the right direction, inspires and helps us maybe become more efficient.

So I used the word paradox earlier.

There’s something to consider.

You see, we’re always being guided. I’ve just been doing a bit of guiding here.

But you’re always being guided.

I’ve talked about it before, about the idea of a higher self. Your , your spirit. Think about it. The spirit is like the light that is the brightest, and it inspires you and moves you towards the source of light, which is God.

Not. Not religion. I’m talking about the purest, the absolute, the one thing everywhere, the source.

And then you’ve got the soul, which guides you through the goodness within you, the experience that you’ve accumulated in this lifetime and the ones that came before.

And together, your soul and your spirit are kind of like the higher self. Okay?

So you’re always being guided, and hopefully right now you’re feeling still. So you’re kind of aligned more with that guidance.

But what happens when people are out of guidance?

You see, this is one of the paradoxes, is that those who are not aligned, not listening to their soul, not listening to their spirit, not receptive to spiritual guidance, find it harder to recognize the fact that they are not aligned.

Because the impetus, the wisdom to tell you that you’re out of alignment would be coming from your higher self.

And therefore, if you’re not in alignment, you’re not receptive to it. So it’s a paradox that those that need to align the most are those that are least aware of the need.

But that’s why we have other forms of guidance.

And that’s where the idea of feedback comes in. And we started talking about that in the book, and I’ve talked about it elsewhere. And that’s when, if you’re really starting to go out of alignment, drifting off the path kind of thing, then what will happen is that you might have a bit of a dis. Ease. Dis Ease. Because you’re no longer spiritually at ease. You might have a bit of maybe an accident or a moment where you bang your foot or bang your head and it’s trying to say, wake up, get back into , get back into alignment. Okay?

But that’s also why humility is so important. You see, humility, if you’re thinking to yourself, I’ve got this.

I’ve nailed it. I’m spiritual, I know what I’m doing. I’m aligned with God. I’m aligned with Jesus, I’m aligned with my higher self, you could be drifting out of alignment. You could be going in the wrong direction, falling into and pride and things like this and not even realize it.

But if you’re humble, not fearful, but humble, humility is. Is acknowledging that we’re not perfect. Only. Only that which is the source of everything. That which is the source, that which is the cause of all that is good. God is perfect.

But we’re aiming in that direction. But humility is the humility to say, I’m not going to be able to do it on my own. I need God’s help. I need my higher self’s help, I need Jesus’s help, and I need the support of other good people around me.

So humility kind of keeps us feet on the ground, not beating ourselves up, not beating ourselves with a stick, but just being humble enough to know I could probably always grow. I could probably always become an even better version of myself. And that’s a topic we’ll talk about in a bit.

But humility really does matter.

So on that note, I want to do another exercise with you.

And as before, hopefully you’re all still with me. By the way, as before, just relax.

You can close your eyes if you want. We’re not meditating, but I’m just going to guide you through a little exercise.

And this exercise, number two is called I Want to Be.

And I’ve just talked about the fact that humility is really, really helpful, because humility is the antidote, if you like, to ego.

And in another episode, I talked about not falling on our sword.

Humility is one of the ways that we remain vigilant spiritually so that we don’t go in the wrong direction and succumb to our, you know, to ego.

So I want to be. It would probably be a good idea to be humble.

So with your eyes closed, just take a deep breath and relax.

I’m going to say a phrase, and all you have to do is notice.

Notice how you are right now.

And then when I say this phrase, notice what you notice. Notice how it makes you feel. Notice whether there’s.

Whether it flows or it. It doesn’t.

Notice how you change, if you change at all.

Okay, take another deep breath.

I want to be more humble.

I want to be more humble.

Notice what that was like.

I will be more humble.

I will be more humble.

I am.

I am more humble.

I am humble.

I am humble.

Humility.

Humility.

You can keep your eyes closed or you can open them.

I was going through the different kinds of ways that we might try and be more humble.

And it started off with I want to be, which is kind of saying, look, my goal or my intention here is to be more humble.

Then I made it more.

Less desire and more of a kind of an affirmation.

I will be more humble.

Then I simplified it and just said, I am more humble.

Then I simplified it even more and removed the judgment because more suggests less and just said, I am humble.

And then I said just simply humility, only you will know.

But as I went through those, you would have noticed that some of them maybe resounded or resonated more than others. Some of them maybe brought you to more humility than others.

Most people will find that the simpler the statement, the more profound it is.

Now, earlier I read that poem out and it is quite nice. It’s simple.

Deep down inside, deep into stillness where there is nothing to do and nowhere to go, I release all thoughts. I am at peace. Light and love sustain me.

It’s lovely.

I’m grateful to the author.

I want to show you something because when I read this out in a group of spiritual people a few days ago, most of them knew the author and they were quite touched by it.

And they said, quite a few of them after I’d read it said they felt a lot stiller. They felt like it had brought them more into their state.

And I pointed out something later on that I’m going to point out now that I find fascinating.

I’m going to just read a few words from this poem.

Inside stillness.

Nothing.

Release.

Peace.

Love.

Now, I don’t know about you, but just reading those individual words has quite a profound effect. It’s difficult to, from the heart, say the word love without being affected by it or hearing it and being affected by it.

And in a way the poem is lovely. But each of those words that themselves have a certain direction or evoke a certain understanding are themselves like a one word poem. Inspiring.

And that exercise we just did showed us that we can become simpler and simpler in how we talk to ourselves and maybe talk to others and become more profound. In other words, less is more. Keep it simple.

So that was exercise number two.

We’ve got a third exercise, but it won’t be just yet. There’s something I want to share with you, so I’ve got a little note there to play the video, so bear with me.

There it is.

Okay, so this is something I put together.

This is something I put together earlier today just to help us understand things a bit better.

So this is you.

And as you can see, we have a physical body. And within that physical body we have a brain.

Now, people talk about mind and , but these things, mind and consciousness, just relate to the brain.

In other words, the mind talks to the brain, the consciousness talks to the brain.

And so really the focal point here is the brain, because the brain within us is the decision maker. Your mind can suggest things, your consciousness can just suggest things, but you don’t have to do them.

You can override using your brain.

And also the brain can be so dominant that we don’t even not aware of the mind or the consciousness or other things.

But this sets the scene. So this is a reminder that this is us, our lower self, if you like. And the seat of the lower self is the brain.

But we are more than just our lower self, our brain and the mind and consciousness. We have a soul and a spirit and you can see it radiating from within.

Now, the body and the brain and the soul and the spirit, they’re all together as one. But this soul and spirit, there are other parts. And we could talk about auras and stuff, but keeping things simple, the soul and the spirit are the higher self.

So I’ve used the word alignment.

And alignment can be considered how much is your lower self, your brain, tuned into or aligned with your higher self?

And let me show you what I mean.

So we’ve got this gauge, like a fuel gauge or a speedo in a car.

And when it’s down there on the left at the lowest level, then there’s no alignment. And as you can see, this person is just being a person.

Nothing wrong with that. But that’s just a body and a mar and a brain just functioning.

As the alignment goes up, you can see that there’s more radiance from the soul and the spirit.

So at this level, let’s just say 50% alignment, you can see that the love and the light is radiating out of this person. They’re still a person with a brain and a body.

But if that’s you or me or someone we know, then they’re now radiating the qualities of the higher self. So love and light, that doesn’t mean necessarily that actual light is visible, but they are demonstrating the qualities of light, goodness, godliness.

And I want you to notice that as they go more into alignment, do you see how the.

The body and the physical almost fade away?

So if a person was truly completely aligned, it’s not that they wouldn’t have a physical body, but what they demonstrate, who they are, where they are coming from, would be completely dominated by the love and the light and the wisdom and all of those good things from their higher self.

But most of the time there’s no real alignment.

Now, this clock represents the hours of a day. So we’re starting at midnight in the middle of the night, in other words, and we’re looking at alignment.

This is just a theoretical day.

2 o’ clock, 3 o’ clock, 4 o’ clock, 5 o’ clock. So we’ve gone hours and there hasn’t been any alignment.

That’s because when we’re asleep, we’re not present. Yes, there may be dreaming and I did talk about your higher self may interact with you when you’re asleep.

But generally speaking, there’s no alignment and therefore there’s no radiance of love or higher self qualities while we’re asleep. And the simple reason is that you have to be present and if you’re asleep, you’re not present.

Then we get to the morning and you see, oh, there was a big blip.

And that might be because if you go back to the episode where we talked about what different people do to be spiritual, a lot of people had a morning routine. So we tune in and we become aligned for a moment and you saw that blip and then you can see we’re going through the day and we had a high blip there of alignment.

But then who’s this? So this is, this is someone who’s not aligned. This is someone who’s very angry or dark. And what’s happened if we just go back a tiny bit and I’ll just play that again. So here we are and we’re.

We’re at 9 o’ clock and we’re, you know, we’ve got 20, 25% alignment and we’re, we’re glowing a bit of light and love and we’re going through our day. And then maybe, you know, in your morning break, you. You sit down and you reconnect and you’ve gone really high in your alignment and then suddenly it drops. Because why? Because someone or something in our environment has either caused us to react and become angry or to be distracted and fallen out of alignment. So we’re no longer aligned with our soul and our spirit and we’re back in our self, maybe acting out of ego or habits or just distracted.

And look what happens. The day carries on and that person’s no longer there. They’re fading away.

But you, me, we in this situation haven’t regained our alignment.

We’ve remained out of alignment because of one interaction that happened hours ago.

It’s almost like they’ve gone, but we haven’t put them down. We haven’t let it go. We haven’t moved on. We haven’t brought ourselves back into alignment.

And then we get home and it’s the evening and we remember and we sit down. Maybe we, I don’t know. One of the things people talked about was listening to a podcast, one of, you know, one of the podcasts of the Spiritual awakening series or listening to spoken Bible or reading a bit of the Bible. So maybe you’ve done something like that or one of the other things on the list and you’re back into alignment. And look, you’re glowing and your heart’s outpouring and you’re full of love.

And then it gets to midnight and your alignment’s gone because you’re asleep.

And so if we were to kind of map that out on a graph, this theoretical day of alignment, then it starts at a baseline of nothing. And then we have a high. And then. And then we drop down because we got distracted or upset at someone and then go all the rest of the day without being in alignment.

And those peaks. So what the arrows are showing, you’ll hear me talking about being in state.

So these peaks are when we’re in state.

So there’s durations throughout the day when we’re in state.

And it’s not just the very point of the peak, but it’s whenever we’re maintaining a certain level of alignment for a period of time that we’re starting to be in state. And what that means is our lower self is actually listening to our higher self. And that’s the goal. That’s the spiritual goal of how to be more spiritual in everyday life. This is different from. We’re not talking about when we’re sat down in meditation, although some of the principles would be very similar. But we’re talking about everyday life.

How can we be more spiritual in everyday life? And the, the ideal would be that we would be. I mean, if I, if I get an arrow and just bring this across, then if you imagine that it would say, come up when we wake up and it would stay high throughout the day and then we fall asleep and then it comes up again. That would be the ideal.

But in this example, we’ve got these three arrows where the three times in this particular day where we managed to be in state, and then the rest of the time we weren’t.

So what’s going on?

What can we learn from this?

Well, it’s your choice, okay? It’s all about choice. Remember I said that the brain makes the choice now.

I said the mind and the consciousness can influence the brain, but the higher self also talks to the brain. And so you are being guided by your higher self to make good choices so you can carry on and hopefully being good.

So what I’m presenting here now is what’s your potential? That’s one way of looking at this. So what’s your potential?

You can be good or you can become totally aligned and be really spiritual. And look, the person’s gone.

Now. What that really means is that their actions, their deeds, their words, their behaviors, their beliefs, their thoughts, everything is aligned with their higher self. And so the lower self isn’t really there because it’s a continuous embodiment of the higher self.

Wow, that would be amazing.

The other option, because everything is choice, is if we don’t listen to the higher self, if we ignore the higher self’s guidance and we listen to our brain and maybe our ego, then the danger is that we fall on our sword and fall on our ego and we become bad.

And if that happens, well, so hopefully that was helpful, that little video to kind of help us understand what, what we mean by being more spiritual and being in state. And this, this reveals three key things I wanted to share with you. These are the kind of three things, the three steps that you can do to be more in state, which means being more spiritual. So the first thing to consider is how often are you in state?

And that would be frequency. So again, if I just use my little arrow here.

1, 2, 3. So in a 24 hour period, according to this graph on the screen, then this person was in state, say three times.

Okay. And so we could talk about the frequency of being in state.

The second one is how long can you maintain being in state? So if you look at the evening session, they were in state for a few hours, which is great. The morning they got distracted and they fell out of state quite quickly. And they were in state in the middle of the day. But then they got knocked out of state by reacting to someone or being affected by someone or something in their environment.

So not only is it how often, how many times in a day, but how long did it last? And then the final thing we can glean from this is the amplitude or how deeply you are in state. So the higher this peak, the more you went into state.

So if you look at this second peak is quite minus and maybe 30%, but then this one was say 60%.

So obviously that’s, that means going deeper or a greater amplitude. Now I’m using terminology that’s a bit geeky, like frequency, duration and amplitude. But equally we could just keep it simple and say how often, how long and how deep.

Okay, but it helps to look at things in different ways.

So when we look at this, then we’ve got frequency, duration and amplitude. And you’ve got different approaches that you can make as a spiritual person. So you could embrace all Three, and have the intention to be more in state, more aligned, more often high frequency, longer each time duration and deeper each time amplitude. That’d be approach A, do it all. Approach B would say, well, I think when I’m in state, I’m quite good, it’s quite deep and it lasts, but I’m not doing often enough. So I’m just going to focus on frequency, which would be B, C would be just focus on duration.

D would be amplitude and so on and so forth. And then there’s variations like, hey, I’ll do frequency and duration, duration and amplitude, or frequency and amplitude.

And if right now you’re thinking, well, way too complicated.

Good, because I want us to stop.

Okay, that’s going in the wrong direction. This is one of the mistakes people make.

It’s true what I’ve just said. It’s true that we can focus on frequency, duration and amplitude.

And it’s, it’s wise that I have shared this information with you. And it’s, you know, whether you’ve been guided to it or you’ve stumbled upon it, it’s great that you have got this concept that, hey, you know what? If I want to be more spiritual, I can increase the frequency or I can increase, increase the duration that I maintain it, or I can increase the depth or the amplitude.

Great. Now let it go.

Now let it go.

The reason being that if we get two in our heads, and we were talking about this in the meetup earlier in the week, someone said that they feel like they’re under pressure to be perfect.

And we looked into it and what we discussed, and someone else actually asked me privately, how do I navigate this? And I said, look, the number one thing is Jesus already loves me.

Jesus already loves you. Okay, so if Jesus already loves you with your imperfections as you are right now, he’s not asking you to be perfect. He’s just asking you to aim in the right direction by his example, by his teachings, follow the way, okay?

So if it’s good enough for Jesus, you hear what I’m saying?

God is already guiding you. The Spirit guides you. And what guides the spirit?

That which made it. The spirit is the gift that God gave you light and love.

So ultimately, God guides your spirit, your higher self, and your spirit, your higher self guides you, and they are already doing it. Your higher self is already guiding you and accepts you and loves you tremendously. Right now, none of them are putting you under pressure to be perfect.

The idea of perfection, the idea of pressure comes from self judgment and it comes from the future. In other words, you’re judging yourself about how you think you should be.

Mark said that the ideal would be that the curve is permanently up here and we never drop out of state. And we’re always, you know, the frequency is really high and the depth is really deep and profound. And. And when I’m in state, I maintain it, that’s the ideal. I’m not saying that that’s realistic, but we need to know which direction to go in. And I’ve got this old watch. I don’t know if you can see this, but it’s got a timer on it and it’s really. I find it really easy to use. So I just set the stopwatch and I was walking the dog this morning, and as I got down the road, I stopped with the dog and I just went, right, just get into state, Mark. Just check in with yourself and get into state. And then I thought, I’ll use this. So I set the timer the next time I checked in with myself whether I was in state. And then because I checked in with myself, I could realign and get back into state was a good 38 minutes later. Then the next time was 9 minutes later.

Then the next time WAS about 18 minutes.

So.

But the exercise of doing that gave me an excuse to increase the frequency and made it something that instead of being, you know, unconscious, became conscious. And that’s the reason why I’m sharing this with you. It’s not to say feel bad if you’re not attaining the ideal, but simply to put it in here as a conscious choice that you can now choose to go. You know what, I’m going to make an effort whether I. You could set a timer on your phone or on your watch. Every 30 minutes it’s just going to beep and just have a little message. Hi, are you in state?

You could have like a little prompt on your phone. Are you in state?

In fact, right now, are you in state?

Check in with yourself.

Were you more in state when we did one of the exercises earlier? In which case you can calibrate.

So people put themselves under a lot of unnecessary pressure. And, you know, the root of it is self judgment and worrying about the future. The antidote is being present, present right now. Okay. And another thing we talked about, I’ll throw it in now, is I’m talking about this idea that you could be more in state and more spiritual and there might be an idea or a belief in you, but that could be months or years to develop.

No, it’s literally, how long does it take to have one thought.

Because when you’re present, it doesn’t matter what you’ve done.

And I was born in 1974, so it doesn’t matter what I’ve done for the last 50 years or even the mistakes I’ve made.

The next thought that I think is the one that matters.

And if my next thought is, I want to be closer to God and Jesus and to be more humble and to be more present and awake to my higher self or something like that, is there a better thought?

It doesn’t matter.

That thought is moving in the right direction.

And if I do that, then I am.

And therefore the next thought and the next thought and the next thought, and you’re only ever moving closer to God or away from God. So the next thought right now is the most important one and the only one that matters.

Okay? So it doesn’t take months or years. It’s what is the next thought that you want to give your attention to?

Okay?

So going back to the slides, because there’s still a lot to cover.

So that raised, you know, let go of the idea of being perfect and putting yourself under pressure. Just remember, Jesus already loves you. Okay? And the ultimate question is, so how do you strive or aspire to be more spiritual without judgment?

There’s the answer. Remember that we have a soul and a spirit, okay?

So it’s not if we’re judging, we’re in our mind. And if we’re judging or we’re in our brain and we’re.

We’re not really being present, we’re being critical.

Okay? So the striving or the aspiration, the way forwards, a bit like holding the space, is about being.

It’s not about thinking, criticizing, judging.

Where is the soul and the spirit?

It’s in the heart.

And that’s why I talk about coming from the heart.

And when we talk about the heart, you know, we’re talking about soul and spirit and stuff. But that might be foreign to you. Let’s keep it really simple. When we talk about the heart, what do we mean? Come from the heart. Come from love.

Now there must be something that you enjoy doing that you really love doing.

Music or poetry or reading or whatever it is or being with a particular person.

Okay?

Does anyone have to force you to do it?

Do you have to analyse the interaction to. To. To love it? No, it just comes naturally.

Whether it’s, you know, being creative or just spending time with a dear friend or a loved one just comes naturally.

I’ve got a good friend coming down Tomorrow. I’m really looking forward to it. I’m not worried about the day, the day will be whatever the day will be. I’m not worried about when they’re getting here and what we’re going to do. I’m not planning it.

I’m just looking forward to them coming down.

Okay, and this is the approach. How do you strive or aspire without judgment? You come from love.

So the goal is to be closer to God spiritually.

The goal is to be more aligned with your higher self. The goal is to welcome Jesus into your life. So love Jesus, love God, love your higher self. Love the stillness.

Love when you recognize that you are in state, don’t quantify it. Don’t go, oh, but I could have been more. Oh, I could have been stiller. Oh, it could have lasted longer. Oh, I haven’t done it in a while. It should be more frequent. No, there are no shoulds. There are no coulds.

Love the state you have.

Love your relationship with Jesus. Love your relationship with God. If you focus on the love, what does love do?

It brings things together.

It brings you closer to them. God’s already there. Jesus is already there. The stillness of your state is already there. Your higher self is already there.

So when you come from the heart and you revelation in the love you have for that which is good, you don’t need to think about it and no one needs you to tell you to do it. You look forward to it, okay, so fall in love with that which you seek and then you will move towards it. That’s how you strive or aspire without judgment. In fact, that’s how you overcome striving.

That’s how you overcome the desire of aspiration.

And it’s about being present.

Years ago, when I was part of another group, there was a whole group of people that were waiting to get initiated, which means that they were going to be given access theoretically to the light of God, so that in meditation they could perceive the light of, you know, spiritual light.

And I was chatting to them. I wasn’t the main person running that group, but I was there to assist. And I was already at that, well past that stage. I’d already had the light for many years.

And they were all going, oh, yeah, but we’re only doing it to get enlightened.

And I said to them, I said, you’re missing the point.

You’re thinking about something that might happen in 10 years time if you’re lucky.

But when you get this gift, you’ve got to love this gift from the first Moment.

Because if you’re saying, well, I’m only doing, I only want to perceive the light of God so that I can get to the next step, which is enlightenment, then you’re not valuing what you’ve been given. So another way of talking about love is to value.

Value what you already have. Value Jesus in your life. Value God in your life. Value the stillness you already know. Value. Value the ability to know that you have a heart.

Value the ability that you know the understanding that you’re being guided by your higher self.

Okay, so so far, let’s just do a quick recap.

We’ve done the exercise one, and we’ve holding the space and we’re starting to understand it’s about being not doing. But hopefully that exercise gave us a bit of an experience of that interrupting the doing through awareness of stillness. And then we did exercise two, which is about humility. And what that revealed is that the simple way is always better.

Pressure comes from ego.

So that’s why we need humility.

We don’t need self judgment and we don’t need . And we can increase the frequency, the duration and the amplitude of our alignment with our higher self. And that will make us more spiritual.

Now, I haven’t actually got to the next point. Use Jesus as a role model, but I’ll leave it there and don’t overthink it. Come from the heart.

Love.

Love what you aspire towards. Okay, we’ve got another exercise to do, but first we’re gonna do a bit of this.

I like to do something special with. Someone once described this book as a living book.

Every time they read it, they get something new from it. So what I’m gonna do is we’re gonna read a few pages together and I’m gonna break down the meaning behind the words and give you more of an understanding. Because this book really is like a spiritual user guide, helping each of us to get more from our spiritual state. So if that sounds interesting, then join me now.

Okay, so you all know this book.

[01:02:13] By now, and we’re on page 24 following on from last week and we’re on the chapter or the subchapter called Black Magic.

[01:02:24] So I’m just going to actually go.

[01:02:26] Back one paragraph or just a quick reminder. So we were talking about toxic people because not all disease is feedback. And we talked about toxic people.

And even though not everyone is good, we said how you act and think should be a reflection of what is in your heart rather than what you think is in the heart of the person in front of you. And now we’re talking about black magic.

[01:02:48] Because this is another thing that might cause dis ease.

[01:02:52] Okay, so, but if you’re spending a lot of time with what you would.

[01:02:57] Call the bad people, then they may.

[01:02:59] Be affecting your energy and well being, draining you, bringing you down psychically, or telepathically injuring you with their negative emotions or thoughts.

Most of these bad people are not even consciously aware of doing it and would not even identify as a bad person.

There are, however.

There are, however, those few in the extreme who know what they are doing and are doing bad things on purpose.

We could refer to their actions as black magic or the dark arts, which is when a bad people deliberately intend negativity towards others, such as magic, invocations, spells, hexes or curses.

This all may seem like the stuff of fantasy and movies, but I have worked with people from around the world and what I have found is that.

[01:03:48] This is really happening. It is just that some cultures are.

[01:03:52] More open about it than others. And in the west this stuff is not generally discussed. So I used to support people in.

[01:03:58] Tanzania and Ghana and quite often they would contact me because things were going.

[01:04:04] Wrong in their lives or their crops were failing. And I’d look into it and sure enough, someone had done black magic, a hex or a spell on their land or on their family. And it goes on a lot there. And it actually does happen a lot in England and other places as well. But in England it’s very hidden and.

[01:04:22] This is where we might.

[01:04:23] Well, you could talk about secret societies and at the upper levels they know, they understand all of this stuff.

But getting back to the book, it is not my intention to spook you, but rather to demystify these taboo subjects so that you can make choices that support your holistic wellness.

[01:04:41] Knowing what is going on means we.

[01:04:43] Can fine tune our awareness and take appropriate action.

So understanding that there are what we could refer to as toxic people and that interacting with them can cause illness and misfortune, then it’s handy to know that such illness can be healed because.

[01:04:59] It doesn’t belong to you.

[01:05:01] But it would be less about healing and more about cleansing you of the negativity from these other people.

Your own level of positivity and good intention can also help, as can prayer. That’s really, really important.

[01:05:15] Back to the book.

[01:05:17] However, here is the kicker that a lot of people might struggle to accept.

If you are in the presence of these toxic people, whether that is socially, relationships, career related or in any other aspect of life, then your aura has already picked up on their negativity and your higher self would have already been guiding you to get away from them.

So at some level you already know they are toxic, but you have just not listened to your higher self yet.

[01:05:46] And if you think about what we.

[01:05:48] Were talking about, alignment, your higher self is always guiding you. So right at the start I said people that are least aligned are also.

[01:05:58] The ones that need it most and they’re the ones that are more likely.

[01:06:01] To drift and get things wrong.

So if you’re already surrounded by bad people and you ultimately put yourself into that environment, then you did so by ignoring the guidance of your higher self. Now, I’m not saying that to beat you up, but. But quite often we can look at the world around us and the environments that we find ourselves in.

[01:06:21] And I’ve been there, you know, I’m.

[01:06:23] Not, I’m talking from experience here.

[01:06:26] And go, oh, hang on a sec, maybe I’ve been getting things wrong.

[01:06:29] Maybe I need to tune back in.

[01:06:32] And a big part of what we’ve.

[01:06:34] Been doing today is learning how to tune back in. So this is really actually all ties in nicely with what we’ve covered today.

Back to the book. Have you spotted a pattern?

Whether we are ignoring God’s guidance and our higher selves and are therefore manifesting our own disease as feedback, or we are ignoring our higher selves guidance to avoid toxic people and therefore becoming diseased by the negativity. In toxic situations, the outcome is the same disease.

The cause is also the same. We did not listen. However, it is never too late to become receptive to our higher selves or God. But does it get harder the longer we have been ignoring them or God?

Hold on to that question.

But for now, I hope you have realized why it is that some people just do not respond to healing. It is because the cause of their dis ease is the fact that they are not listening to their higher selves. And so they cannot be healed as they have not learned the lesson they need to learn in order to evolve.

All the time there is friction between the higher self and the lower self, then there is potentially dis ease. Friction happens when the lower self ignores the higher self’s guidance.

If the same problems keep popping up, then something has not changed. So even if they are, even if they do heal, it will be temporary. And the problem brackets feedback will appear when they make the wrong choice again, often coming back even worse. First it was a sore throat, the next time they lost their voice. Then it’s something far more life Threatening.

So we’re going to stop at that.

[01:08:15] Point and I’ll just mark it.

[01:08:17] So next week we know where we’re at and I will see you over there.

[01:08:24] Thank you guys for staying with us. And we’re back over here. So it’s probably wise just to very quickly go back to that recap page. So we’ve done the exercise holding the space we looked at. Humility in the simplest way is the best way. Pressure comes from ego.

We need more humility.

We can increase the frequency, duration and amplitude.

Use Jesus as a role model. We’re going to get back to that. Actually. That’s really useful. And don’t overthink it. Come from the heart. Love, Love God, love Jesus, love yourself, love your higher self. So now we’re going to go on to that exercise and we call this one Becoming.

Okay, so in the book that we just read and in the stuff we’ve talked about this evening, the higher self is the key.

And remember what I just literally just read to you. When there is friction between your lower self, so brain, body and higher self, soul and spirit. When there is friction, then there is dis. Ease, however that manifests. Okay, so this exercise is called Becoming.

Before we begin though, what is your higher self as a person?

Not thinking soul and spirit, but just think about your higher self as a non physical person.

They are the better version of you. They are calmer, they are wiser, they are ancient, they are stiller. They don’t have fear.

They were there before you were born and they will be there after you’ve gone.

Now thinking of them, I’m gonna, I’m gonna break here and just share a little story. So I was, I was walking down.

When I walk back from the park in the, in the morning with the dog, it gets quite hot and there’s an. There’s an alleyway between the houses that’s always in the shade. So it’s nice to walk back down there. And I let the dog off the lead when we go down that alleyway so he can cool down in the shade.

And I had a kind of a surreal spiritual moment of really tuning in and becoming aligned with my higher self. As I was walking down and I could see I was looking at the dog and I was looking at the alleyway. And there’s a lot of plants growing over the top of the alleyway from people’s gardens.

And I just had a real profound sense of it’s not real.

I mean, the plants are real, the wall is real, the physical body is real. The dog is real. They’re all real relative to each other.

But I was sitting so much in my higher self that my higher self was just, just kind of observing it like you would watch a computer game or a film, just waiting for me to make a choice that’s a good choice or to align even more.

And that kind of and my higher self having the perspective that, look, it’s not really real, it’s just. It’s just stuff.

What really. In other words, what really matters is the higher self.

Okay, now there’s nothing derogatory in that.

There was a load of love and acceptance, but that put me in the frame of understanding or reminding me of.

We’re so used to thinking of ourselves down here and then looking up to or hoping for guidance from our higher self.

I want you to consider the relationship you have with your higher self from your higher self’s perspective. And that little story of it’s not real gives you a bit of an insight.

So your higher self is constantly, totally accepting. And by the way, they don’t go to sleep.

They’re accepting you.

They’re totally loving you.

They’re focused on you right now.

They’re not living for tomorrow.

They’re not judging you.

Yes, if you do wrong, they will give you feedback, but it’s done out of compassion and love, not out of hatred or anger or resentment.

And they know what is right.

So the more you’re attuned to your higher self, the more you have a.

A compass of righteousness, not self righteousness, righteousness.

So that higher self is you, the better version of you. And I don’t say that in a derogatory to who you are. It’s the same for me.

How lucky are we that we have them?

Okay, But I want you to consider the relationship between your higher self and you from your higher self’s perspective.

Just how much love they have outpouring for you, how much they want to guide you and are doing what they can for you. Okay, but one way of looking at it is because it is a bit abstract.

Another way of looking at it, if you want to understand that relationship, is how was Jesus towards his apostles?

He guided them, he loved them, he was there for them. He put them first.

He accepted them. He forgave them.

Jesus as the guide for humanity, as the guide for the apostles, demonstrated the relationship towards his apostles that your higher self has for you. Now, I’m not saying your higher self is Jesus, but your higher self is of the same.

It’s closer to God. It already knows the direction you need to go in and it’s trying to guide you. Just as Jesus came to show you the way back to God, okay?

So if you can’t imagine the relationship, then look at it from a third person perspective, the relationship Jesus demonstrated towards the apostles and the kindness he showed.

And in the same way, if you struggle to identify with your higher self, then use Jesus as an example, okay? Because he’s like the gold standard, the highest standard.

He’s God at the end of the day.

So Jesus came to show you the way and lead the way by example. So when I do this exercise, I’m going to talk about the higher self.

If you feel that’s too nebulous for where you’re at, but you can identify with Jesus, then where I say higher self, just simply intend Jesus, you know?

So here’s the exercise, okay? Again, I want you to just close your eyes. This isn’t. There’s nothing to do here. Just listen.

But you can, if you want, take a deeper breath and just let your breath flow. And as you breathe out, relax, because there’s no such thing as being too relaxed.

But be present, okay? The goal is not to fall asleep.

So as you hear my voice, breathe in and breathe out and accept you down here as you are.

And you can remember earlier I showed you that video where as you became more aligned, more of your higher self came through, but that higher self is already there.

So alignment could also be considered getting out of the way.

But accepting you right now as you are, I want you to just become aware of the qualities of your higher self as if they are a separate person to you, as if you are in a room and there is you and your higher self.

Notice their calmness, their wisdom, their ancient qualities, their stillness, their love, their patience.

Take a deep breath.

It’s okay to love them.

It’s okay to be grateful, to be humble before them, and simply allow yourself to notice what they would be like, what they are like, and how great that is and how inspiring it is, and how that would be a good direction to go in.

And whether you perceive them, however you perceive them, or if you’re using Jesus as the example, keep them there and then bring yourself into the awareness as well.

So there is you and them.

And you’ll notice that there’s a difference between you and them.

And that’s okay, because as you breathe in and as you breathe out, I want you to move the you that you’re aware of into you. So you are looking from or being from the first person perspective.

So you are now sitting in you.

And then there is just them, whether it’s Jesus or your higher self.

And maybe they’re in front of you or off to the side, or above or below or nearby, but on the inside, bring them before you so that you turn to face them fully.

Notice all those amazing qualities and how they feel and what you sense and perceive and what you know. Without words, without thinking.

Take another deep breath.

And not this time, but in a moment when I say you can take another deep breath and just move into them.

Merging, melting, absorbing, accepting them, allowing.

Take a deep breath now and notice what it’s like as you become them and you take on all of those qualities.

And just like the video earlier, where as you become aligned, they shine through, they’re still there.

You are them, they are you, you are one.

Breathe into it. Let go into it.

Because you don’t do spirituality, you be spiritual.

You don’t make things happen.

You get out of the way, get out the way gently.

To allow what’s already there to shine through, to resonate.

Alignment is humility.

Because when you are humble, you put what is greater before what is less.

And it’s okay because the higher self is you.

The best version of you trying to bring all that you are into alignment.

So breathe in and let go fully into all of those amazing qualities.

Love, acceptance, patience, being present, just being.

There’s nothing to do.

All that I’ve shared and all that you know and all that you’ll ever know is to point you in the direction how to be.

And just as holding the space, it’s when we let go.

And you know, someone wise once said, you need a sense of humour to be spiritual.

Because if we take things too seriously, then we’re not really that humble.

And it’s all right to be light hearted because that’s where the Spirit is. And the spirit is light.

And as you hear what you hear and notice what you notice, you can bring your attention back into the present here and now in this live show. Whether you’re live with me right now or listening again.

And remember, one of the ways we can become more spiritual is to allow that stillness, that presence, that being aligned to last.

So it’s longer duration. So intend.

I am aligned.

And love it.

Love what it feels like to be wherever you are right now. That is nice and good.

So what can we learn from this now that we’ve had hopefully a moment of being more aligned and realizing that our higher self is already there, Jesus is already there, that we don’t need to do anything to get their attention. We just simply need to get out of the way.

Then we can reflect on the fact that what gets in the way, what interrupts the connection, not being present, being judgmental, not loving ourselves.

So now we know what to do.

Be present, be accepting, love yourself.

It’s simple.

And it’s also 10:26 on Thursday evening.

I’m really grateful to you joining me.

And there have been a few little technical things, and that’s okay.

We’re not looking for perfection. We’re just moving in the right direction together.

And so if you found this useful, then great, hopefully you can share it with others. And the podcast will be coming out in the next few days, and that means that you can listen again and you can always watch this video again as well.

I suspect that this will be one that maybe we’ll come back to it from time to time. And, you know, if. If you guys want, I’ll break those exercises out into mini podcasts or something. If you think that they’re useful or little videos, let me know in the, in the comments or you can email me or get in touch in your usual ways.

But for now, thank you for joining me on this journey.

Wiggle your fingers, wiggle your toes if you need to bring yourself more present back into the here and now.

But, and this is really, really important, that stillness, that being present, that state isn’t something that has to go. It can stay, can actually get deeper. You, you know, I can.

I was in state walking the dog. You can be in state in any situation.

It comes down to the choices you make. So what’s the next thought that you’re going to have?

And on that thought, I’ll say, keep making good choices.

God bless you.

So we’ve reached the end of this episode, and I’m really grateful for you joining me thus far. But before we wrap up, I want to add two bonus things for you to consider.

So, obviously, we’ve talked a lot about the importance of maintaining our alignment with our higher self. And towards the start, I talked very much about the paradox that those that need guidance the most are those that are perhaps least or less receptive to it because they’ve fallen out of alignment.

And we looked at different things that we can do to make sure that we are more aligned, if that’s what we want.

Now, one thing that I think is really worth highlighting here is the positive benefits of a strong community.

Now, I’m not talking about a structured community, like living together or even being in the same country. But it’s that community of spiritual people that you surround yourself with, even if it’s just once a week, checking in, having a phone call or a video conference, or just whatsapping each other, whatever it is that keeps you in contact with like minded people. In fact, like minded is probably not the right phrase, but how about people on your wavelength when it comes to soul and spirit and aspirations to be closer to God.

And so whoever they are, obviously choose them wisely.

But when you are surrounded by spiritual people, then they can be another layer, if you like, or another opportunity for you to receive guidance. And it could just be in the form of friendly conversations, bouncing ideas off each other, talking honestly about perhaps where you’re struggling or if you’re getting feedback. You know, I’ve got this, for example, I’ve got this ache in my foot or I bashed my elbow and they could go, oh, hang on a sec, have you thought it could mean this?

And sometimes just that external voice or that external someone separate from the situation who has a slightly different perspective can be invaluable. But the other reason why spiritual community and therefore communion that is coming together in the pursuit of spirituality, one other reason why it’s so invaluable is if you’re dealing with another similar, you know, good spiritual human being, then they’re receptive to their soul and their spirit, and their spirit ultimately is guided by God. So say, for example, there’s something you need to learn or something that needs to change and you’re not able to tune into that guidance for yourself, but you’re talking to someone else who can receive guidance, then through them you might get the message. In other words, they might get the guidance that you need to hear. Because if you go to them and say, look, I could do some help with this, if they’re more receptive at that particular time, then they could help you. Not if they’re trying, by the way, it’s not if it’s coming from their mind or their ego and. But if they’re able to be neutral and humble and want to help you and maybe put a little prayer in and say, look, dear Jesus, can you help me find the right words here?

Please guide me, if appropriate, to help others if they ask that kind of thing.

And the nice thing is, and maybe one day you’ll do the same for them, or maybe there’s someone already there in your spiritual community, those people that you know, that would benefit from your stillness and your ability to be, you know, aligned.

So I just wanted to bring it into our awareness that another kind of avenue or layer of support is other spiritual people.

But obviously the primary relationship is between you and your higher self and you and Jesus and you and God. So we shouldn’t look to others to be the source of guidance. And I think that’s where perhaps things like religion fall down, because it puts the priest or the vicar or the imam or whoever it is in a position of authority between you and God, when really the relationship you have with God is always your relationship directly with God, but staying on track. What I’m really alluding to is the other similar, similarly spiritually awake people can actually be something that you welcome into your world to help guide you, you know, when you need it. And the. The other thing I wanted to really highlight, it was touched on, but I really want to kind of shine a light on it is the word allowing.

So, you know, we were talking about not being stuck in the doing, but becoming more the being.

And just to reiterate really so that maybe this is the last thing we remember from this show, then this is one of the things that’s really important.

Your higher self is already there. The guidance is already there.

Jesus is already there. God is already there.

Allowing means getting out of the way so that what they have for you can come through.

And ultimately, if you take it to the highest and the light, the love from the source can radiate through you. And therefore you are a benefactor of it, but so is everyone else.

So instead of striving, aspiring, doing, trying, etc, we can become allowing.

And that again goes hand in hand with humility. So I know we did touch on that, but I thought it was so important. I just wanted to reinforce the importance of the word allowing.

And on that note, let us allow this podcast to come to an end and hopefully it’s been helpful. God bless.

Thank you for being awesome and joining me for this episode. I’m truly grateful. As a spiritual person, I hope it’s inspiring to realize that you’re not alone and that more and more like minded people just like you are enjoying this live show. This means that you’re part of a growing and awakening community and together we’re all finding the way back to God. Going deeper than just ideas and beliefs to experience firsthand real spiritual awakening. This is a journey of the heart, not the head.

So take this moment to just become a little bit stiller, more present, more new neutral.

Now notice what you notice when I ask you this question.

What in this particular episode has been most useful.

Now, who in your life at this particular time would benefit the most from knowing this too. Maybe it’s one person, or maybe it’s more than one, but because sharing is caring, it’s really nice to know that you can actually share this show with them and therefore help them.

This show is completely free to enjoy and benefit from now. Speaking of free stuff, if you’d like other useful, helpful spiritual resources, then head on over to the waybackgroup.org there you’ll find all kinds of free resources, articles, e eBooks, MP3s, guided meditations, and a whole load of other stuff that’s completely free and waiting for you to discover it. So that’s all for this episode, but your journey and my journey continues.

And so I look forward to having you join me next week for more revelation and exploration into spiritual things. And together, let’s make more sense of life, not just for us, but for our loved ones so that we can help them too.

So remember to subscribe and hit the notifications so that you don’t miss out.

Who knows what we’ll be discussing next week, and the next question or topic might even be yours. Perhaps there’s a reason you’ve been guided to this show.

So God bless you. And remember, real change starts when we put into practice what we’re learning so that we go from thinking and doing to finally being.

So take what you’ve learned today and keep on being the best version of you.

God bless.

Bonus:
Discuss the need for positive community, since they can help guidance when you’re struggling to receive your own higher guidance. They have a soul and spirit and so may be guided how to help you. A good idea is to pray/appeal to higher self/Jesus “dear Jesus and my higher self, please guide me to be able to help others to become closer to Jesus and God. Give me the words, the stillness and the wisdom…
Also to highlight the importance of allowing. Eg. allowing your higher self’s guidance to come through.

Spiritual Poem
How to be spiritual
lower self

The brain, influenced by mind and consciousness, is the seat of the lower-self.

Aligned with higher-self

As we align with our higher-self we radiate the qualities of soul and spirit, love and light
