==== INTRODUCTION ====
[00:00:06] Wow, guys, I did not expect this.
[00:00:10] This episode is almost two hours long and this is grown up spirituality.
[00:00:16] What looks like some pretty simple topics. Mind, body, spirit and emotions.
[00:00:23] This gets deep.
[00:00:25] Well, I don’t want to say too much. I want to let you just get on and enjoy it. What I would say though is there’s a bonus at the end because I’m going to pick up on one of the points and just give us a little bit more information. But also this episode had a lot of supportive visuals, slides and the like. And if you follow the link in the description of the podcast, you’ll jump to our website where you can see all of these slides and the visuals that I think will just really help you to kind of concretize your understanding. The key reason being that you’re going to learn a lot in the next hour and a bit that will really help in a practical way with becoming more spiritual, more aligned with love, and quite frankly, understand emotions in a way that people just aren’t talking about.
[00:01:19] In fact, people are getting wrong and it’s holding them back and it’s hurting them and it’s harming them and others.
[00:01:26] So, yeah, this one’s, this one’s big and just come from the heart. You’ll get the most from it. God bless you and I’ll see you soon.
[00:01:38] Take care.
==== THE MAIN LIVE SHOW =====
[00:01:46] Good evening. This is episode 73 of discussing spirituality with me, Mark Zaretti, your host for this episode and for all the episodes. Although we sometimes have guests, we’re going to dive straight in today because it’s a topic that I don’t think needs much introduction. The whole concept of mind, body, spirit, and I’ve added emotions because quite frankly, it’s something that’s important and often is overlooked and very much, I believe, misunderstood and yet accountable for quite a lot of the things, the kind of experience that we have in life. And so join me as we explore these topics and obviously with our spiritual hats on. And look, I’ll just point this out. So I’m wearing the life is school for your soul T shirt. And it’s the heartbeat and it’s to remind us that the soul and spirit and the whole journey is really about the heart and the beating heart of the whole thing. And so let’s start as we mean to go on coming from the heart, because I can tell you now, this may be quite a challenging show.
[00:03:02] And that’s not always a bad thing. Sometimes we grow the most when there is challenge. And my goal is certainly not to rub anyone up. The wrong way. But my goal is, as it says in the if I get to the right thing in the notes, is truth seeking and truth speaking. And that’s exactly what I’ve been doing today, looking into this very matter. And sometimes in speaking the truth, it may challenge people’s ideas, beliefs and things like that. And I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing.
[00:03:38] And I’ll do my best to be as compassionate on this journey.
[00:03:42] But it is a journey of truth and that will sometimes mean shedding ideas and beliefs and things that we picked up along the way so that we can actually be more aligned with the truth.
[00:03:54] So what are we actually going to be looking at today before we dive into the main topic? I just want to do a quick book update in case you’ve missed some of the news. And then we’re looking at mind, body, spirit and emotions in that the whole goal is to understand our spiritual potential and address real questions around the topic of, you know, this whole thing. And then importantly at the end, what can we actually do with this information so that we take away from this practical things that we can actually put into effect in our lives so that with the goal of being more spiritual. So if that sounds useful to you, you’re in the right place. So let’s just go straight into the book update and I welcome marigold0 milli2772 and username what who have joined us in the live chat and everyone else listening now, watching now or if you’re joining us again on catch up or podcast. And Panther 9 as well, he’s just joined in. So a quick book update. I’ve obviously I’m in the process of writing some books that’s been an ongoing thing for many years.
[00:05:02] But I’m also, I’ve just started a new book project which will be published very soon, as soon as I finish writing it. And the update here is really just the fact that this book project is well underway.
[00:05:16] The hardest part is start. And I, as an author, everyone’s got a different process. My process is I like to actually just start at the start. I know where the book needs to go, but I want to get the start done.
[00:05:29] So because it’s the whole opening part of a book really sets the, the tone, the identity, the personality of the book. And I really like this book. This book is very conversational. It’s. It’s as if you and I are just sitting here having a, having a chat about things.
[00:05:46] Now I know that it’s far too small for you to see. But on the screen I can just make out that it’s saying that we are 10,767 words in which is 63,000 characters, in case you wondered. And that equates to about 42 pages. And what we’re looking at here is page 29, or page 29 and 30.
[00:06:06] I’ll just draw your attention because I blurred, deliberately blurred out most of it. But there was a few things I wanted to show you about the book that are a bit different and hopefully are going to help. Because look, my books aren’t. Are not a novel, you know, who done it there. There are spiritual books and that means sharing lots of information that’s hopefully spiritual.
[00:06:28] What this box I’m just pointing out on the screen here, top right, with a little picture of me with some books in front of me.
[00:06:36] Every now and then in the book, I’m going to drop one of these in and it’s titled. This one is called what have We.
[00:06:42] This one’s actually titled we have Covered a Lot. And it summarizes nine key points from the chapters previous to this box. So it’s like a summary box. And every now and then I’m going to drop one of these in because I realize when we’re covering new territory and introducing concepts that are a little bit more out there because they are spiritual, then this is something I want to do now is to kind of really guide people through it in whatever way makes it as easy for you as possible. So I’m putting in these kind of summary boxes called or TLDRs. So too long did not read.
[00:07:20] So you can just get the salient points. Hopefully you will read, but it just helps reinforce things.
[00:07:26] Some of the other features you can see is the book isn’t just boring blocks of text. There’s quotes, there’s breakout sections, and this section down here that I’m just highlighting, bottom right is a definition of spirituality. And that brings me on to you because I need your help.
[00:07:48] And I would like to invite you because if you’re watching this show. Yeah, my kind of person.
[00:07:55] Then I would like to invite you to get involved.
[00:08:00] So the question is, as it says, Chapter 5, what is spirituality?
[00:08:04] And I do address that in a book. But this book is for everyone. And the best way of helping everyone is to speak to as many people as possible and to speak from the perspective of as many people as possible. And so what I would like is in English or any other language, but if it is done in another language, could you also give me the English translation less than 150 words.
[00:08:29] Trust me, that’s a challenge.
[00:08:32] Your definition of what is spirituality from your experience, not repeating back something I’ve said in this live show or anything like that, but what you know for yourself, what spirituality really means for yourself. And if you want to do that, then there’s no guarantees, but I would like to put them in the book.
[00:08:52] And so if you, if you would like to submit your definition of spirituality, also write like a literally one sentence biography of who you are so you can give your real name or just say anonymous or man from Margate or you know, woman in. In North England or Mum of three. What, whatever you feel identifies you so that it gives some real context, like this is just a normal person. You could even mention what your career is or whatever. As much or as little as you want.
[00:09:25] But basically how do you want me to refer to you in the book?
[00:09:29] And then I will.
[00:09:32] Obviously I’m not making any promises and if people send me nonsense, if this trolls, then that will be ignored. But the idea is that this is your chance to be part of the next book that I’m writing, which could be quite fun. It’ll be interesting to see what people put. And I won’t share any spoilers if, if I use someone’s quote, I won’t change a single word or whatever they write will be, you know, as long as there’s no profanity will be put into the book with their name alongside it. And then if you want to see what people write, then it’s. It will be in the book. But that’s just an update. So I’m really pleased because I’ve reached that point where now the book is flowing, I can get on with writing it. The start is always the hardest. And also just laying out the, the kind of the templates and stuff for the book as well.
[00:10:23] So yeah, really from my perspective, exciting. Hopefully it’s something that you can look forward to as well. And how often do you get to be a part of someone’s book? So ponder it and if you want to talk to me about it, then contact me directly if you need any more guidance on the matter. But I don’t want to stare you in any way. Just write down what you think spirituality is. Send it over. Okay, there we go. The one thing is less than 150 words. You can go up to 150, but no more. Okay.
[00:10:52] Trust me. It’s quite a good challenge actually.
[00:10:55] So what’s the next thing? Well, the big topic for today is mind body Spirit and emotions. And I think we all know that statue. It’s called the Thinker.
[00:11:05] And I chose that because this, this character has quite a muscular body. So it draws attention to the word body and their thinking. So obviously they’re using their mind or brain.
[00:11:19] And I’ve put a, as you can see, there’s like a light coming out of the center of them. That’s me representing the spirit.
[00:11:26] And then I’ve written emotions at the bottom. Okay. Because no one ever talks about that. Mind, body, spirit. And yet will you be surprised how much emotions stare, people getting away, things like that. But we will be talking about this a lot.
[00:11:41] In fact, looks like we’re diving straight in to the topic of emotions, because what’s the big deal with emotions?
[00:11:49] I’ve already alluded to the fact that emotions play a role.
[00:11:55] And one of the things I’m interested in is, okay, well, how heavy do they hit? What kind of effect do they have? And one way of kind of understanding that is how long do emotions last? And believe it or not, about 2014 some scientific research was done where they got people to fill in questionnaires and reflect on the last time they had a strong emotion. And they did the usual scientific meta analysis stuff. So, you know, this is peer reviewed stuff. This isn’t just a sample of one or two people.
[00:12:29] And what I’ve done is I’ve read a summary of that paper and then I’ve summarized it into a visual thing. Now what we’re looking at on the screen, and don’t worry, as ever, the images will be in the, not in the write up notes for the podcast and stuff is a timeline or not a time, but a measure of time. So 30 minutes on the left hand side going over to five days on right. And it’s not linear because we’ve kind of squeezed it. You could say it’s logarithmic, but it’s not either. Basically it starts at 30 minutes, then it goes to one day, two days, five days, you get the idea. Okay, so how long do emotions last?
[00:13:11] Well, let’s put some emotions on here.
[00:13:13] Shame, fear, humiliation, disgust. Now I, in case you’re wondering, I didn’t choose these, okay? This is literally what was studied in this scientific paper. And so I’m just representing the scientific evidence, but in a way, hopefully that’s easy to understand. So we’ve got all of these, shame, fear, humiliation, disgust. And they’re all, give or take about 30 minutes. You can see that fear a little bit longer, shame and disgust. Disgust actually goes the quickest shame, the second quickest, humiliation, third quickest. And fear lasts the longest out of them, but they’re all round about the 30 minute mark.
[00:13:55] At the other end of the spectrum, sadness. Sadness can last five days.
[00:14:01] It doesn’t mean that, that five days is, you know, it’s full of four days, 23 hours and 59 minutes full on sadness. And then one minute later, boom, it’s gone. Obviously it peters out, but. But it can last a very, very long time.
[00:14:16] And then irritation is a bit longer. Irritation is like about an hour or two.
[00:14:22] Guilt can last quite a while as well. So guilt can last an hour or two, a bit longer than irritation. Anxiety, one to one and a half days. Once someone’s got anxiety, despair, two days.
[00:14:35] And hate is at two and a half days. So sadness lasts twice as long as hate. But hate far outstretches all the others that were looked at or certainly that I was able to get access to. And the. The actual paper.
[00:14:52] Verdin P. Lavrijzson.
[00:14:56] Sorry, I apologize about not pronouncing that. Well, title is which Emotions Last Longest and why? The Role of Event Importance and rumination motivate motive, emotion 39, page 119 to 127. And I’ll put links, etc.
[00:15:13] But so the real scientific paper, these are some of the emotions. So let’s.
[00:15:20] We ended on hate there. So let’s lighten the mood and look at Joyce. Joy is right up there and it’s even quicker in terms of how long it lasts. Not that long though the effects can last a lot longer. But the actual emotion of joy, as they put it, is about 20 minutes. Then we have compassion, which is about the same as in fact it was found to be the same as irritation. And one commenter on that thought that was quite tragic really, that you can be as compassionate for about as long as you can be irritated.
[00:15:53] Hope, Hope lasts long time. And maybe, you know, we’re looking at about three days there. So perhaps there is truth in the old saying that, you know, hope springs eternal.
[00:16:07] And so these were the different emotions that stood out in that study and I’ve kind of mapped them onto a time thing to kind of make it easier for us to visualize and compare. So sadness, long time, joy is over very quickly and hate tends to get stuck on that. Now the title actually talks about part of the reason and I would actually suggest that, for example, sadness doesn’t last five days as they’re saying. I think that what happens is that as the study shows the length of a emotion, especially the negative stuff, tends to be how much do you say it’s your emotion? How much do you regurgitate and ruminate on it?
[00:16:59] So for example, if it is sadness, then you’re constantly re accessing it, reinforcing it, replaying whatever the trigger is, re going over the thoughts and whatever it is that makes you sad and you perpetuate it for five days. In other words, you’re punishing yourself.
[00:17:17] And they commented that sadness pretty much is knocking on the door of depression. So if you keep going with it, then it’s no longer considered an emotion, it’s considered a mental health problem.
[00:17:30] But it’s about rumination, which means you’re literally chewing it over again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again for five days. You get the point. So this is what people do to themselves.
[00:17:46] Five days. Now, in truth, the actual initial sadness might only be like the other pictures, 30 minutes, 40 minutes. But you keep telling yourself, keep doing it, keep doing it. And the sadness just carries on and carries on and carries on.
[00:18:04] So there are a few other things I’ll get back to.
[00:18:09] I’ll probably come back to that slide.
[00:18:13] But basically the take home from that is that there are positive stuff going on like joy and compassion and hope. And there’s negative emotions like hate, obviously, and sadness and humiliation and things like this.
[00:18:28] And the range is from as little as 20 minutes for joy through to five days for sadness and which is quite sad really. And I genuinely mean that because as we will learn, there is a better way.
[00:18:47] And I’m just going to jump to the chat, actually. I just noticed the questions popped in there and it is relevant. So Rachel B. Jones says that is fascinating. I would have thought fear and guilt could last years if you let them.
[00:19:00] Well, we will get onto that. But the actual fear, the feeling of fear, as in something triggered, it goes quite quickly. But the, the being motivated by fear and ruminating on it can perpetuate on and on and on as well. But what people generally say is if it’s a strong emotion of fear, it’s over probably once the trigger has gone.
[00:19:32] People, it’s one of those things like you say, it’s fascinating. I agree with you, you know, and I don’t pretend to have all the answers. I haven’t studied this paper in great depth and looked at the breakdown and stuff. So I’m going to provide links and if you want to. But what I’m trying to do here is from a spiritual point of view, paint enough detail that we can understand what’s coming next. Because I also disagree with some of this stuff.
[00:20:00] And yeah, I will explain myself and my stance as we progress, but here we’re laying out the groundwork. And if the take home that we can take home from this is. Yeah, absolutely, it’s fascinating. And the longer lasting emotions are purely because the person having them is. Keeps going back to them, keeps reinforcing them. In other words, they do it to themselves.
[00:20:30] Now we’re talking about mind, body and spirit. And I’ve put four splodges on the screen, four circles.
[00:20:39] I want you to just draw attention to the fact that three of them overlap and one of them’s off to the side and only overlaps with one.
[00:20:48] And obviously you don’t have to be a genius. We’re talking about mind, body, emotions and spirit. So you could maybe have a guess right now before I start revealing anything as to which is which.
[00:21:01] But I am going to press on. So you have to do it quickly. But basically, let’s look at the red one. So we’ve got the role of whatever that is, is it does feeling stuff and reacting stuff and distracting you stuff and being asleep.
[00:21:16] And I don’t mean snoring asleep, I mean not present, not really awake. Okay, so whatever that is, it’s responsible for those kind of attributes of character.
[00:21:28] The one that is kind of a golden brown color is responsible for doing stuff and eating stuff and sleeping, actual sleeping and sex and labouring and growing and dying. And by laboring, I mean physical.
[00:21:45] Whether that’s laboring in the gym or laboring at work or pushing a car down the road. If it’s broken down, whatever it is, that particular circle is responsible for doing the doing stuff and yeah, growing and dying.
[00:22:01] So obviously we’re probably talking about the body there.
[00:22:04] Now this yellow one is responsible for thinking and planning and problem solving and having conversations.
[00:22:12] And by that it’s quite interesting. Conversations with itself and conversations with others and then intellectual learning, that’s what the INT stands for there.
[00:22:26] Making choices, obsessing, ruminating.
[00:22:31] Okay, so you probably guess what that one is. And then the last one, the green one, that is where you find being virtuous and stillness and kindness and loving and healing and higher learning and prayer and receiving guidance and giving guidance and higher growth as opposed to physical growth or any other kind of growth.
[00:23:01] So no surprises then that the one that does feeling, reacting, distracting, etc. Is the emotions.
[00:23:09] The one that does the doing and the eating and the sleeping and the Sex and stuff is the body not. Not love like that.
[00:23:18] The mind is the one that does the thinking and the planning and the conversations with itself and other people and choices and obsessing about things and intellectual learning.
[00:23:29] And obviously that leaves the spirit, which is the seat of virtue and all of those amazing qualities.
[00:23:36] So what can we learn from this little simple sketch that I’ve drawn? Well, I want to draw your attention to this little segment here that’s hidden behind the word doing.
[00:23:46] And if this was a Sven diagram, then it’s the point where the three circles of emotions, body and mind all overlap.
[00:23:57] And so it forms that little shape that I’m just outlining with the arrow.
[00:24:02] And that you could say is the seat of your personal identity, your lower self, because it’s where your mind, your body and emotions all converge. So it’s all. It’s all of you, basically.
[00:24:16] Now notice that spirit has nothing to do with emotions or body, and it only has a little bit of overlap with mind.
[00:24:24] And if I was.
[00:24:28] If I’d had more time, what I might have done is move the word choices into that overlap between mind and spirit. Because it is through choices that your lower self, this personality, this trifecta of emotions, body and mind, interacts with spirit. In other words, you have to choose, you have to make good choices. And you’ve heard me end every single light, every single live show with and keep making good choices. And in the last episode, I believe it was episode 72, I refined that even further to keep making the right choice because we talked about right, wrong, good and bad.
[00:25:07] Fascinating as well. That was a great episode, I believe.
[00:25:11] And so you could put the word choice actually in that overlap where I’m pointing and that would make more sense. And so it’s through choices that you can move towards spirit, but also the other way, which would mean emotions and body and mind orientation.
[00:25:29] So that’s you. That’s your four circles of.
[00:25:35] What’s the. What would be the right word?
[00:25:38] The.
[00:25:39] The zones of quality of the nature of you. Thinking, feeling, doing, virtue.
[00:25:47] In fact, just by chance, the first word. Totally by chance, the first word. Well, there’s probably no such thing as chance. It might have just been my higher self guided me to do that. Maybe. But the first word of each of the circles is the right word. It is. Emotions are feeling, mind is thinking, body is doing, and spirit is virtue.
[00:26:10] Kind of simplifies it nicely.
[00:26:12] So where do we go from here? Well, if these four zones or bodies, let’s call them bodies, so you have an emotional Body, a mental body, physical body, and a spiritual body. Keeping things simple. By the. By the way, let me elaborate a bit further. So by mind, I mean the conceptual mind, but I also mean the physical brain. We’re the seat of physical thinking.
[00:26:43] And by spirit, I don’t just mean spirit, I mean that which is spiritual. So that would also include your soul. So you could say that spirit in this context, as drawn on the screen here, is referring to the higher self. And the mind, emotions and body together form the lower self. So you could also say the brain, the physical body, and the emotions.
[00:27:05] Okay, so a bit of clarification there, always useful.
[00:27:10] So if you were to sit in stillness and have the ability to do so and neutrality and whatnot, to ask the question, the question would be, or the question that I asked was, taking all adult human beings on the planet at this time, what is the average awake focus? And by that I mean not when they’re unconscious, in a coma or asleep, but when they could demonstrate free will. What is the average awake focus of human beings at this time?
[00:27:48] And this is what we got. So I know the key is quite small, so I will use my little arrow to point things out for you. But this big yellow slice is how much of that awake time on average is spent on the mind.
[00:28:04] So it’s over half.
[00:28:06] And then the next biggest slice is this big red slice, which is a. Looks like it’s about a quarter at least. And that slice of the pizza is emotions. And then we have this brownie color, and that is the physical body, and that’s just under a quarter by looks of it. And then we have this slice at the top, which is gray, and it’s called other at this stage. And then we have this little thin blue slice, and that is spirit.
[00:28:31] So, and this is the average, okay? So if you understand average, you understand that that means that there, it’s the middle line. So there’s some right up here and there’s some right down here. So the average for all of humanity is what we’re showing in this.
[00:28:50] And so you can see that the dominant attention, the dominant amount of time goes to mind. And then the next most dominant is emotions.
[00:29:00] Then the next most dominant is physical, physical awareness. Physical, you know, the physicality of you being the focus of your attention. And then this thin slice is spirit. And then the reason why I discovered other was because when I got these various values, which I will share with you, it didn’t add up to 100%. And I’m like, have I been.
[00:29:27] Have I Got the information wrong? No, no, I’ve got the information right. Okay, so what, are there something else that we can give our attention to?
[00:29:36] So while I’m showing you the statistics and talking on, have a little think about other than mind, body, spirit and emotions, what is the other thing that can draw our attention?
[00:29:50] Okay, it’s quite interesting. It’s quite.
[00:29:54] I say it’s quite interesting. It’s key really to spirituality in many respects.
[00:30:02] So I’ll put the figures on the screen just so we know.
[00:30:07] Mind took up 58% on average of the. Of the awake, awareness, body, 15%, spirit just 3%, emotions, 21% and other, 3%. So other in spirit are in a joint tug of war, really there for the. For the scraps of your attention.
[00:30:25] And look, I say your attention. I know chances are if you’re tuning into this show, you’re already more mature spiritually.
[00:30:35] And you know, we have to choose a. We have to draw a line in the sand. So the line is, what’s the average? And that. That is, I think, the kindest and fairest way, because it’s the closest point to everyone, if that makes sense. So it’s the most inclusive way of looking at it. And I don’t use the word inclusive in any kind of woke way, just that what we’re trying to do is to help all of us wherever someone is in their journey. So this is the most representative.
[00:31:08] But we are on a journey, aren’t we? Which means that if. If we are on a spiritual journey, there should be the capacity for spiritual growth.
[00:31:18] And so I again remind us all of what’s written here, that life is school for your soul, and it comes from the heart. And one of the things that means is that we are called upon as spiritual people to be able to be neutral.
[00:31:35] Okay, now before I go on to the next thing, I’m just going to go to the chat because someone has taken a guess at what other is, and they said soul.
[00:31:47] And that’s a good guess.
[00:31:49] Good guess. But remember I said that if we go back to the previous slide that I said that spirit includes the soul in this context. So when. When I say spirit here, I’m not talking about just the spirit, I’m talking about that which is spiritual, your higher self. So that’s already included. So soul awareness, spirit awareness, higher self awareness, all the same thing in this context, and that is 3%. But I like where you were going with that. Username. What?
[00:32:20] So I’ll give you a gold star if I can find one in the in the icons. But if not, don’t worry, I’ll give you a thumbs up instead. There we go. So, but it’s not the. It’s not. It’s a. It’s a good answer, but it’s not the one that is. Is the right answer in this context.
[00:32:45] So let’s press on then. So remember, all joking aside, being neutral when I present information, first of all, we must remain humble. This information is given to help and in the pursuit of truth. You’ve probably heard me say many times, to seek the truth is to seek God. So we must never lose sight of that. And I don’t mean religious character. I mean that which is before time, before everything, the cause of all things that is good, that which is the ultimate pinnacle, the goal of spirituality.
[00:33:29] So what I’m going to share with you now, I implore you and remind myself as well to remain humble about this information, because the person who this relates to wishes to remain anonymous, but has kindly allowed this information and they didn’t know themselves. Okay, so.
[00:33:51] And I’m going to go to the chat before I share the next bit of information because people are making good guesses. So one person saying interference and one person saying aware of God. And Panther 9, you said aware of God.
[00:34:09] That’s a really good guess because that’s one of the things that I thought, oh, could it be that like some kind of direct awareness of God?
[00:34:16] It was, wasn’t.
[00:34:18] So I’ll put you all in a moment.
[00:34:20] I’ll kind of give or let us know what it is. But I wanted to share this because what I’ve shown us is the average. But as I said, we’re on a journey and the journey should have a destination or growth, depending on how you want to look at it. And we talk about spiritual awakening, spiritual growth. So we’re really referring to growth here. So what I’m going to share with you now is if you ask the question at this time, then what is the distribution of awareness for the person on the planet that has the highest level of spirituality?
[00:34:56] And I got the information without knowing who that person was.
[00:35:00] And then I did some work to find out who they were. And it was actually someone that I am aware of.
[00:35:07] So the information I got, I got before they knew about it. And then I had some communication with them and it was agreed that it could be shared anonymously. Okay, so this is the person on the planet at this time that has the highest level of spirituality at this time.
[00:35:28] So let me get my little pointer out just to Help guide us with this.
[00:35:32] So the blue on the left which was the average person about 3%. And as you can see on this person it’s way more than half. It’s approaching 2/3, if not at 2/3.
[00:35:48] And emotions is a thin sliver as is whatever the other thing is.
[00:35:56] Interestingly, body awareness is actually more in this person than. And then mind or thought based awareness is a lot less.
[00:36:11] So it’s quite a different distribution.
[00:36:15] And just for completeness of the information then that table I’ve just put on the screen is the distribution for this person who has the highest level of spirituality at this time.
[00:36:33] And there’s no significance why the word mind is bold. It’s just formatting problem. But it’s basically so reading them out.
[00:36:42] The first figure will be the average person and then the second figure will be this particular person.
[00:36:49] Then you go 58%, drops down to 13% for mind. Body goes 15%, goes up to 19%.
[00:36:56] Spirit is 3% for an average person and 67%. That’s over 2/3 for this person.
[00:37:06] Emotions is 21% for an average person and drops down to 0.5% for this particular spiritual person. And then other goes from 3% down to 0.5%.
[00:37:23] If it had been aware of God then it would have gone up because the more spiritual you are then the more there is that awareness.
[00:37:31] So I’m grateful to that person for sharing. Well, they didn’t actually get, they didn’t know that I’d done that. But when I found out that I knew them, I contacted them. Now does this mean that you should have more body awareness? And by the. I don’t mean kinesthetic awareness, I mean should, should we be paying more attention to our body and, and doing more exercise and things like that?
[00:37:59] Because by awareness I don’t just mean sitting in stillness and having awareness of. I mean what are you giving your attention to in everyday life? Are you in your thoughts or are you in your emotions or are you in your body?
[00:38:12] And we.
[00:38:15] There’s some communication and it became clear to that spiritual person they were surprised and it was a bit of a wake up for them. So they were.
[00:38:27] What was really nice was that when they got, got the, the information they were grateful which I. You’d kind of expect from a spiritual person. They wouldn’t be resentful and they were surprised. Might be that’s how it came across as the.
[00:38:49] They were paying too much attention to their body basically. And what was quite interesting to observe is how quickly they adjusted and changed Their attitudes towards a whole load of stuff that was body orientated.
[00:39:07] And I have compassion for that person because I understand where they’re coming from, because they’re not.
[00:39:14] They have been someone that has been a very physical person, you know, whether that’s sport or martial arts, whatever it was. We won’t go into the specifics, but I can relate to it. And so they didn’t realize how much they still had identity in stuff like that. And so it was a useful exercise just pointing this out for them personally because they were like, well, now I know this is their thought process. Now I know where change is needed. And so what it meant was they could then go, okay, it’s like dials in a car, the revs are too high, so you need to change gear. So it brings about the opportunity to change when there’s information.
[00:40:02] And I’m sharing this with all of us because the pie chart on the left, which is the average person, is probably more accurate for most people. And so what can be changed, we’re giving a lot of attention as people to mind. In other words, what we’re thinking, what’s going on in our heads, what that really says for the average person is that they’re spending 58% of their living experience.
[00:40:30] Pardon me, Their living experience is internal dialogue. What’s going on in their head, not really what’s even going on in the outside world. And then 21% of their experience is purely how they feel, which is 1/5 of their entire experience.
[00:40:47] And then 15% is their body.
[00:40:51] So, and it’s a very, it’s a very broad brushstroke. So I’ll give us some examples because when I say body awareness, that would be, for example, if someone’s overly obsessed with their body and they’re always looking in the mirror, or they’re always on the scales, or they’re always down the gym or they, or they’re over obsessing about what they eat or, you know, it’s not just thinking about their body, it’s living.
[00:41:23] Putting as a priority in life, you could translate that into emotions. So someone is led by their emotions, obsessed with how they feel, thinking about how they feel, strategizing, you know, because to avoid bad feelings and stuff like that. So that would be people that have spiraled into anxiety or depression, for example, would be skewed much more to the emotions, but also the mind.
[00:41:50] So hopefully this is helpful and I hope it makes sense. And that’s partly why I do these visuals to try and reinforce this stuff. So the take home from this slide with these two pies next to each other is simply to say, and by the way, this person wouldn’t have thought that, you know, that they felt back, they didn’t think that they were that spiritual and which was quite nice to see the humility being demonstrated there.
[00:42:22] And they see themselves, you know, in communication with them, they said along the lines of that they see themselves as someone that has a long way to go in terms of growth, which is good because for us it means that the capacity for growth is vast.
[00:42:42] So if anyone’s sitting or standing or you know, lying down or whatever, if anyone’s there listening to this or watching this and looking at this image or just imagining what I’m showing and thinking negatively like oh, there’s no hope or I’ll never be that good or any thoughts like that, stop.
[00:43:05] That’s not the goal. That’s genuinely not the truth.
[00:43:11] That’s just negative beliefs that hold us back. And one of, one of the episodes, episode 70 I believe it was.
[00:43:20] Let me see if I can bring this up.
[00:43:22] Something else we’re going to share a bit later anyway, but I’ll share it now. So episode 70, we touched on this and I’m going to reference into it here because what we’re looking at here is just the actual write up notes. So in the notes I often pull out the key screenshots and I wanted to show us this one because this little triangle on the right hand side, we’ve got actions, thoughts and deeds at the bottom. Then we’ve got attitude above it and beliefs at the top. And what that was telling us is that behind all the problem behaviors that we might have or things holding us back is our own beliefs.
[00:44:07] So if you’ve got a belief that whoever that person is is somewhere where you could not get, then that’s just your belief and that’s not a helpful belief.
[00:44:19] So I would suggest replacing it with well, if they can do it, so can I. Because that would be the first thing that that person would say. If I can do it, so can you.
[00:44:30] So if you haven’t checked out episode 70, it really actually is really well, hope the goal is that it’s all helpful.
[00:44:39] But in line with what we’re talking about today, episode 70 I think really is a good fit as well for this kind of stuff.
[00:44:47] We’ve still got a long, a lot, a long, long way to go. Let me get back the slides, but if there’s anything you need me to go into more detail on, just let me know in the chat, but I will press on. But the key thing, the take home from that slide was to inspire, just to show what the potential is. Because this is someone living probably in a very similar environment to you or I at this time on the world, not in some monastery or anything like that.
[00:45:25] And has managed to get from 3% spiritual awareness to 67%. That’s a take home. And to diminish the emotional impact of the amount of time they waste on emotions down to half a percent, which is pretty awesome. So talking of time, going back to the average human’s kind of awake focus, let’s look at things in relation to time and in particular how long do they actually exist.
[00:45:57] And we touched on this earlier because emotions was one of the opening slides and we learned from that. Like 20 minutes to five days seems to be the span of emotional duration.
[00:46:09] So mind, okay.
[00:46:11] A thought, not very long. Emotions, a bit longer. The body, obviously, as. As long as you’re alive.
[00:46:20] And spirit. And I’ve drawn that going off the edge of the screen because the truth be told, well, I’ve got insights into that, but beyond the scope of this. So let’s for now just. I’ve put infinity question mark. Certainly vastly. You know, if the body is years, let’s just say the spirit as in that which is the soul, the spirit, et cetera, the higher self.
[00:46:47] We could use words like aeons. Okay. Long, long, long, long, long times.
[00:46:52] So let’s put some numbers on this. So how long does a thought last? Seconds.
[00:46:58] When you’ve had it, you’re already moving on to the next one. You can recall it.
[00:47:02] But the actual thought experience is but seconds. Emotions, as we’ve already established, minutes to days, but no longer. Your body, approximately 85 years.
[00:47:14] Oops. And as we’ve got there Spirit off the chart and yet. Right. If that’s how long these things exist, then look back at that pie chart how much time we give them.
[00:47:28] So we’re giving.
[00:47:30] I can’t remember the actual figure.
[00:47:34] Quickly jump back. We’re giving 58% to our mind, 15% to our body, 3% to our spirit, and 21% to our emotions and whatever other is. I haven’t forgotten.
[00:47:47] Okay, so almost 60% going to the mind and yet the mind is just a collection of second long thoughts and yet we give it so much time. And the metaphor that came up for me was why people waste hours and hours scrolling through short videos on YouTube or other platforms. TikTok. Whatever. It’s because it’s quick instant gratification. Instant satisfaction, instant satis, instant whatever, satisfying.
[00:48:24] And move on. And if you don’t like it, move on. And that’s what thoughts are. If you like it, stick with it. If you don’t, move on, have gone. Have gone. And it’s almost like we’re out of control.
[00:48:39] And the mind is a bit like a constant stream of YouTube shorts or TikTok videos. And most of it’s just rubbish, you know, because it’s out of control.
[00:48:51] And emotions very similar, very short, transient things that some of them. Well, we’ll argue that point, whether some of them make you feel good for a short amount of time, but then they’re gone.
[00:49:02] Body.
[00:49:03] Now it makes sense. Your body’s 80, lasts 85 years, give or take, so it makes sense to give it some attention.
[00:49:11] But the spirit.
[00:49:13] Spirit’s an infinite thing and yet is getting the least amount of time. So what I’m showing us here is just the total disproportionality between what’s important and what we give our attention to.
[00:49:30] That’s why we’re having this show.
[00:49:33] That’s why you don’t get spirituality in the classroom. And we have to come to a rumble channel in the middle of nowhere to find a guy talking about spirituality or that most of the old books written about it are so confusing no one can. You know, some of them are like eating crackers without cheese.
[00:49:55] So maybe that’s partly why.
[00:50:00] Or maybe it’s because the life around us just stimulates the mind so much. And then we’ve all been conditioned to think that motions matter.
[00:50:10] So let’s talk about emotions a little bit more if you want.
[00:50:15] Hopefully you’re still there.
[00:50:17] So just a quick recap. So we had joy at the top, and we had hate down the bottom. And.
[00:50:22] Well, hang on a sec. Why is Mark talking about top and bottom? Because we never really talked about that. We talked about left and right. So to the left we’ve got a short amount of time, and to the right we’ve got a long amount of time.
[00:50:32] So what’s going on here?
[00:50:35] Well, there’s that line.
[00:50:37] I’ll just put a line on the screen and you’ll notice that most of the red ones are below that line and the yellow ones are just on the line or just above it.
[00:50:48] And the blue ones are quite high up, and there’s a vertical axis pointing up and pointing down. So you can probably guess where this might be going.
[00:50:57] So let me explain everything. Below that dashed line on the screen is ego. So shame, fear, humiliation, disgust, hatred, sadness. Even despair, it’s all ego.
[00:51:14] And we talked a lot about ego in other episodes. So if you’re unsure what I mean by ego, I’ll give you like a 30 second version. Basically, ego is thoughts about self that take you away from goodness and take you away from spirituality in God. So if you give more attention, not just thoughts, but anything, emotions, thoughts, ideas, beliefs, if they’re focused on you, the little self, in other words, mind, body, emotions, then they take you away from spirit.
[00:51:48] That’s a simple way of understanding it. So shame, fear, humiliation, disgust, hate and sadness are from ego and feed ego. In other words, if you go into hatred, then you are going more into your ego. But you also, it comes from ego in the first place.
[00:52:07] So whenever you engage in ego, and we all look, we all can. So there’s no finger pointing here or you know, holier than thou or any nonsense like that.
[00:52:19] Let’s just lay it all out on the table.
[00:52:22] Most, most of it’s born of experience, guys.
[00:52:25] So it’s all ego.
[00:52:28] So if anything, and this is the interesting thing, I point to the T shirt yet again, there’s a reason why I put this on.
[00:52:35] Life is school for your soul. Comes from the heart. There’s the heartbeat.
[00:52:40] The heart is the antidote to ego. Go to your heart.
[00:52:45] You see, if anything I was saying in any of these videos evokes fear or humiliation or disgusts you, or you hate what I’m saying, or it makes you sad or you feel shame, then where you are coming from is not the heart and it’s not spirit. It’s the lower self. And therefore it’s ego. And I know that word stings.
[00:53:13] That’s why humiliation and shame is there, because ego doesn’t like to admit that it is ego. Okay?
[00:53:23] So we have to get over that. We have to climb up above that line.
[00:53:30] And so that line, you notice that the actual timeline, left to right, is above it. So that timeline, where it crosses the vertical, you could say is neutral.
[00:53:40] So even guilt, irritation, anxiety, which are above the line of ego, they’re all negative. So they will lead to ego. But they’re not directly in the ego zone. They’re close to it though. They’re going in that direction.
[00:53:55] So what else can we learn from this?
[00:53:57] Well, why have I colored them in differently? Well, hang on a sec.
[00:54:02] The red ones. So shame, fear, humiliation, disgust, hate and sadness, their emotions.
[00:54:09] But irritation, guilt, anxiety and despair, they’re actually, they’re not emotions, they’re thoughts, they’re of the mind, they’re not Emotions and then hope, compassion and joy, they’re not emotions.
[00:54:28] They’re of the spirit, they’re of the heart.
[00:54:34] And so I said right near the start, I disagree with that paper. They’ve lumped everything into the bucket of emotions and they’ve said, look, things that the heart does, things, things that come from the spirit are emotions. They’re not.
[00:54:49] Joy is not an emotion.
[00:54:51] Joy is a state.
[00:54:53] Compassion is not an emotion. Compassion is what comes from being in the heart.
[00:55:01] It’s actually, there’s different parts to it. I’ve written an entire article years ago about compassion. I’ll link to it. Hopefully. Hope is part of faith.
[00:55:12] Hope is a spiritual quality.
[00:55:16] And by the way, you probably realize by now notice all the red ones, all the actual emotions are below the line in the ego zone. And the mind stuff is below the line of neutrality in the negative zone.
[00:55:28] The only stuff that’s above the line and is positive is the stuff from your spirit, the spiritual stuff. Joy, compassion, hope. There’s other things that could go in there. And I think they said they looked at 160 odd emotions. So there’s a lot more that will be on the red side of things down there in the ego zone and there’ll be a lot more yellow stuff in the ego zone or just above it. But the only stuff that you’ll find above the line will be coming from the heart, from the spirit.
[00:55:59] And so if we finish this picture, then what we’ve got is that stuff near the top is closer to love.
[00:56:12] And let me explain.
[00:56:15] So looking at this picture, then, sorry, I’ve moved off the screen. But for example, compassion, hope.
[00:56:24] When you actually sit in the state of hope or the state of compassion, you are moving towards love. There is more capacity for love.
[00:56:32] When you sit in the emotion of hate, you’re moving away from love.
[00:56:38] Same with shame. If you’re feeling shame, luckily it only lasts 30 minutes. But get over it, move on, because it’s not helping you, it’s dropping your vibration. That’s what that picture represents. And so from the picture, we can now see that disgust is even worse than humiliation. And humiliation is worse than fear. And fear is worse than shame.
[00:57:01] And hate is worse than all of them.
[00:57:04] And sadness is about the same as fear.
[00:57:08] Now, interestingly, guilt, of all the negative stuff, guilt was the highest. In other words, guilt is the one that’s closest to neutral.
[00:57:16] And that’s interesting because think about it.
[00:57:21] To feel guilt, there is at least some part of you that knows you did wrong.
[00:57:27] And knowing you did wrong means that there’s some capacity to understand what is right.
[00:57:34] So guilt isn’t too negative.
[00:57:38] Humiliation, you can be humiliated but not understand what you’ve done wrong.
[00:57:45] You can be humiliated because you got caught out doing wrong, but it doesn’t mean that there’s any remorse.
[00:57:52] There’s just humiliation. So guilt suggests that there may be remorse, that there may be contrition. Okay? And that’s why guilt is higher up in terms of vibration than disgust. But I wouldn’t be aiming for guilt or disgust. I’d be aiming for compassion, joy, hope, the positive stuff. But what I’m getting at is the picture actually shows us.
[00:58:14] And this is where I did a lot of work on the inside to look at the different vibrations of these raw emotions and understand their energy is that, for example, despair is more negative than anxiety.
[00:58:29] And when you’re really genuinely feeling the emotion of disgust, you’re really in quite a bad place. Why? Because disgust implies or relies on a lot of judgment. And being judgmental is a very negative, ego based thing.
[00:58:44] I’m going to press on, guys, because there’s so much that I want to share with you.
[00:58:48] So if we’re aiming up with joy and compassion towards love, shame, fear, humiliation, disgust, hate, sadness, despair, anxiety, guilt, irritation, they all drop us into darkness. And I don’t mean some kind of, you know, conceptual darkness. I mean the, the really base energy.
[00:59:13] It’s right there alongside evil, satanic and demonic darkness.
[00:59:19] The absence of love, the absence of joy, the absence of all that is good.
[00:59:25] Not just the absence, but the embracing of the opposite of what is good. Because hate isn’t just the absence of something. Hate is movement in the direction of darkness rapidly. Okay, so let’s summarize.
[00:59:41] Take homes. Before we move on to the next stuff, focus less on body.
[00:59:47] And that was interesting because that came back from the person who had the highest level of spirituality. That the realization for them with the information they were given was that they need to let go of a lot of body, identity.
[01:00:03] Shift from head into heart.
[01:00:05] That’s always good advice, but remember what I said in this diagram is that the hope, compassion, joy come from the heart. They’re the only things that are going to in this picture, take us up. Everything else, guilt downwards is taking us towards darkness. So shift to your heart, get out of the negative stuff. The negative stuff comes from your mind and your emotions.
[01:00:28] And I said this last week and it surprised a few people.
[01:00:34] Well, in fact, I don’t want to get ahead of myself. I think I might be covering it in a moment. But it’s all about choice. Remember I said that the bridge between the lower self and the spirit was choice. So in your head you can make a choice. And I think that’s why that person was able to take the information about their distribution of awareness and very quickly change is because they’re not attached emotionally or intellectually to things. So when they got the information they went, I choose to change. I choose to take this information with gratitude and change.
[01:01:07] Ignore.
[01:01:09] Ah, interesting. Ignore ego, do not feed the beast. I don’t think I’ve explained, but going back to that picture, the pie chart, the other thing that people can pay attention to is their ego.
[01:01:24] And if you, if you, if we very quickly go back here, remember all of that stuff. So the emotions and the mind lead to ego.
[01:01:34] So we can say that the ego is a quality of the emotions and the mind, but it’s also something almost separate because when you start to feed the ego, then it becomes its own thing. So that’s why I said, ignore the ego. Do not feed the beast.
[01:01:49] It’s like in the zoo, do not feed the animals. Do not feed the beast.
[01:01:55] And how do you feed the beast emotions?
[01:01:59] Notice every single emotion in that picture was negative. And in ego, that’s why the guy, well, let something out there. But that’s why the person who was the OR is the most spiritual person on the planet at this time has very little interaction with ego.
[01:02:18] And you know, it’s not like a switch. That’s because they’ve done a lot of work.
[01:02:26] So ignore the ego, ignore emotions. I know this is going to be revolutionary for people, but ignore emotions. The clue is in the name emotion motion. Emotions are simply motion moving you in the wrong direction.
[01:02:43] And there are no such things as good emotions. If you ask people what’s a good emotion, they’ll say happiness, joy or joy is a state that comes from the heart. Happiness is a judgment call. Someone is happy because something has happened that they perceive as good.
[01:03:01] And how long does happiness last? It’s momentary. Why? Because the other side of the coin is sadness.
[01:03:09] So to be able to be happy means you have to be able to be sad. So it’s not actually a noble state. A noble state or a noble pursuit would be contentment, which is much more about neutrality. People that seek happiness will never be satisfied. And that’s where you get this constant scrolling on YouTube, for example, or in the case of being over obsessed with the mind because you’re constantly seeking happiness gratification.
[01:03:37] Pardon me.
[01:03:39] And there’s always room for improvement. I mean, growth. And I’ve crossed out the word improvement because from a spiritual perspective, improvement suggests judgment of where you are.
[01:03:51] Even where you are right now is great because it’s from here that you’re going to get to there. So it’s not room for improvement, it’s room for growth. And that was a take home from showing the difference in potential between the average person and the person that currently is iced.
[01:04:10] So just preempting what you might be thinking.
[01:04:15] Marigold0, by the way, in the chat has just come up with a very good one, so I’ll share that. Ego motion. Yeah, ego. It’s all about ego. And it’s. You go into the ego. So ego motion.
[01:04:30] Ego.
[01:04:32] Good one.
[01:04:33] Brilliant. So preempting what you might be thinking. All very interesting, but how do we put this into practice in everyday life, Mark?
[01:04:42] So let’s see if we can put this into everyday life. So in everyday life, the actual reason why this whole episode came about was.
[01:04:53] This has actually come up a number of times. But more recently, someone reminded me of this. I first looked into the Zoe stuff years ago. I think I was listening to one of their podcasts and they started talking about it. But basically someone said, you should have a look into Zoe Gut Biome testing. Now, very quick. Biology 101. There’s about 10 times as many bacteria cells in your body as there are human cells. So in a cell count basis, you’re 10% human, you know, mammalian, and 90% bacteria.
[01:05:27] As a person, that’s perfectly normal. There’s other stuff in us as well, and there’s yeasts. And when things get out of control, then you have fungal infections, but there’s also parasites and all kinds of things. But basically we’re walking zoos. And modern science is really waking up to the fact that a lot of how we feel is down to our guts. It’s not just intuition, but literally the.
[01:05:54] Have you had your yakult? I mean, I think that’s just junk food, but basically, if you’ve got good gut flora and a biome is another way of talking about what’s going on in your guts in terms of the stuff that’s not actually you, but lives there because it helps break down your food. It also, in case of parasites and stuff, can trick you into thinking you’re hungry when you’re not. And it can even. Did you know that parasites can make you feel.
[01:06:19] What’s the polite way of putting this?
[01:06:22] Aroused.
[01:06:24] Because if they transmit through saliva, then they want you to go and kiss someone. So they make you want to go and kiss someone.
[01:06:31] Fascinating. And this, if you, if you’ve ever watched the film Alien, you should really, you know, and you think, where do they get the idea for that? You know, something bursting out your tummy and then going into someone else and blah, blah.
[01:06:46] It’s the world of parasites. There’s some horrendous stuff out there where parasites take over the nervous system of ants and make them march up to the top of a leaf, you know, a blade of grass, and then clamp their jaws on the end of the grass. And then the ant dies and the parasite stays in. The ant pops out and then the sheep come along and eat the parasite. And then it gets into the sheep for the next phase of its life cycle. And they literally zombify these ants, ants to get into sheep.
[01:07:11] It’s astounding, really. And then there’s all kinds of stuff, but I studied parasitology, so it’s quite fascinating. But if you want to freak yourself out, just look at parasites under a microscope. But anyway, so someone talked about looking into your gut biome testing from a health point of view. And they also talked about transplant, transplanting gut biome into people to help.
[01:07:33] Now let me just qualify that statement. That means taking the poop out of someone’s large intestine and popping it into, through the back door, someone else’s large intestine so that the bacteria in person A and the parasites and everything go into person B on the assumption that person A had good biome. And so we’re using it to seed good biome in the person that’s deficient.
[01:07:58] And from a biology point of view, you know, if that’s putting you off your eat late evening snack, then I’ll try and be as blunt as possible, but as sensitive as possible. It’s perfectly natural that when you were born, if you were born naturally, not C section, that in the process of being born, the mother would have made a bit of a mess and some of that brown mess would have naturally got smeared over the baby and into the baby’s mouth.
[01:08:30] And that is how the gut biome from the mother is supposed to get into the baby during the birth process because there’s no other way to get it in there. Can’t go down the placenta and into the baby that way. And so at birth, natural birth, which is a messy affair, the baby is supposed to, you know, get some stuff in its mouth and that will get into the guts, into the system and prime the guts and get things kicking off. And that’s why babies have green poos by the way, because they don’t have the bacteria at the start to break down dead red blood cells which are green because it’s this stuff called bilirubin. And when they shift from green to brown poo’s, this is a spiritual channel by the way. But when they make that shift, it’s because they’ve now got the bacteria firing off in their guts to break down the dead hemoglobin and produce and package out the body in a way that’s less green and toxic.
[01:09:34] So I apologize if you’re eating. But anyway, it’s perfectly natural is what I’m getting at.
[01:09:39] So someone was making this suggestion about these kinds of things and they came out with the line which was, look, some parasites are actually beneficial and they help with weight loss.
[01:09:51] Okay? Now I’ve done a whole thing on weight loss and Ozempic and my intuition fired off and went, this doesn’t resonate with me now. No criticism to that person.
[01:10:03] Fascinating conversation, each for their own. And there’s a lot of science backing up what they’re saying.
[01:10:08] But I’m a spiritual guy, so I want, I listened to that side of things as well. And it did not resonate with me, the idea of taking parasites out of one person and putting them in another person because it might actually have weight loss benefits, etc.
[01:10:26] But it did trigger a load of questions. And I wrote, don’t know if we’ll be able to see this, but I wrote down, let’s go to the other camera. I wrote down a load of questions just like as they were coming because I was genuinely interested. And that’s what actually triggered off this whole thing because it got me thinking. This person is talking about a lot of stuff to do with body.
[01:10:49] Are we meant as spiritual people to be that orientated towards body and obsessed about it and stuff? Which got the whole mind, body, spirit thing going in my head. And that’s why we’re having this conversation, which I believe has been valuable so far.
[01:11:06] So these are the questions that evoked and I’m sure there’ll be other questions and you throw, throw your own ones into the chat as well. But this is what came up. So we’re spiritual people and we’re being guided all the time.
[01:11:21] So since the topic was primarily about food at the start, when I was thinking about this stuff, then I wondered, are we actually being guided what to eat? Like when we’re cooking, is our higher self going, don’t Eat the bacon fat.
[01:11:38] Stay away from, you know, those highly processed microwave dishes. You know, are we getting that kind of guidance as spiritual people? Not me personally, but just generally and interestingly, because I. My, my kind of intellectual reasoning was probably we do get guided. Don’t eat that. Don’t you know, you should eat this. The truth. Because I’m more interested in the truth than, you know.
[01:12:05] Well, I’m interested in truth. The truth is, no, your higher self, it doesn’t care in that respect. It cares about you.
[01:12:15] Next question. So the first question. Is there spiritual guidance about what to eat? No, I’m sorry, I apologize. These questions are all over the place. But this was just what came to mind as I was thinking about the picture.
[01:12:31] Are there any good parasites, as in the idea of putting something into your body that’s not actually part of you to do good? And the answer is obviously no.
[01:12:45] But by good I mean from an energy perspective. So parasites are not good. They’re bad. Their energy is bad. Negative energy. Okay? So when they’re in you, you’ve got something in you that is non human and not good. Okay. I’m keeping it really simple.
[01:13:03] So that reminded me of a YouTube short that I had seen. I try not to watch YouTube shorts, but I had come across one and it’s someone saying that, well, when the Bible was talking about demons, actually they were talking about parasites.
[01:13:16] So in neutrality, are parasites demons or demonic?
[01:13:22] They’re not.
[01:13:24] But let me explain the fallacy or the logic. And I’m going to read a little bit of the Bible, which I know some of you like. And some of you think, why is he reading from the Bible? But remember, life is skill for the soul. Stay neutral because we can learn from lots of different things. And I just think this is interesting because I want to explain something at the end of this. So we’re looking at Mark five, chapter one.
[01:13:53] And I wish I had my glasses right, this is referring to Jesus and the apostles. And they came over onto the other side of the sea into the country of the Gadarenas.
[01:14:07] And when he was.
[01:14:10] And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit who had his dwelling among the tombs. And no man could bind him, no, not with chains, because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken into pieces. Neither could any man tame him.
[01:14:44] And always night and day he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying and Cutting himself with stones, basically self harming.
[01:14:55] But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him and cried with a loud voice and said, where have I to pardon me? What have I to do with thee, Jesus?
[01:15:09] Thou son of the Most High God, I adjure thee by God that thou torment me not.
[01:15:21] Okay, so this is the unclean spirit within the man speaking to Jesus. For he said unto him, as in Jesus said unto him, come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.
[01:15:34] And he asked him, what is thy name?
[01:15:38] And he answered, saying, my name is legion, for we are many. In other words, the man was possessed. It’s the spirits within him talking to Jesus. And Jesus says to the man, what is your name? And the spirits, the demonic things within this man say, we are legion, we have lots of names.
[01:15:56] And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of their country. Now that’s the demonic spirits besieging Jesus not to send them away. In another translation it says, do not cast us into the abyss, which I thought was a nicer, more graphic way of saying it. But out of the country now there were nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding pigs, okay, and all the devils. So now it’s referring to the unclean spirits as devils. And all the devils besought him, saying, send us into the swine that we may enter into them. And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out as in left the man and entered into the swine.
[01:16:45] And the herd ran violently down a deep, a steep place into the sea.
[01:16:51] They were There were about 2,000 and were choked in the sea, in other words. So the short version. Jesus arrives at a place, a man that lives in the cemetery who’s possessed by evil spirits runs up to him and recognizes him and says, you are the Son of God.
[01:17:08] Don’t send us into the abyss. And Jesus says, leave then. And they leave and go into the pigs, and the pigs go mad and jump into the sea and drown. Okay, that’s what that particular story is.
[01:17:21] And I’ll just read one other quick story which references something similar. And this is Math Mark again. 9:17, in case you wanted to look it up for yourself.
[01:17:33] So, 9:17, okie dokie. And one of the multitude answered and said, master, referring to Jesus, I have bought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit. D U M B spirit.
[01:17:47] And wheresoever he taketh him, he he teareth him, and he foameth and gnasheth with his teeth and pineth and pineth away. And I spake and the disciple.
[01:17:59] And I spake to thy disciples. And they should cast him out. And they could not. So in other words, the disciples of Jesus tried to cast this demon out of this guy’s son, and they could not.
[01:18:10] I’ll jump forwards. Basically, Jesus cast this thing because it’s quite hard reading, and he cast them out. And then afterwards. So we come to this bit, and when he cast him out, the guy looked dead, the son looked dead, but Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up and he arose. Yay.
[01:18:33] And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately. So in other words, when Jesus had gone to where they were staying, the disciples asked him, why could not we cast him out?
[01:18:45] And he said unto them, this kind can come forth by nothing but by prayer and fasting. Okay? So what people have done is they’ve taken that reference to prayer and fasting and casting out of demons, and they’ve taken the other one where demons would only leave if they could go into pigs.
[01:19:05] And they’ve taken biology. Now, biology is there are. I mean, if you eat bacon, make sure you cook it, because bacon is riddled with parasites, Especially if you get those cysts in the fat, they’re full of parasite eggs. And it’s well understood that swine, one of the reasons that they’re considered unclean is because of the parasites.
[01:19:28] So what they’re saying is, well, the Bible’s just talking about biology then that Jesus cast out parasites which went into the pigs, pardon me. And in the other one Jesus cast out, said it can only be cast out by prayer and fasting because it’s known that if you fast for long periods of time, you can get rid of parasites because if there’s no food in your body, they can’t survive. And then they drop out of you in the hope that they can get their eggs into someone else.
[01:19:58] So fasting is one way of getting rid of parasites. And the connection between humans and pigs alludes to another way. And so what some people are trying to say is that the Bible, there wasn’t miracles. There weren’t demons. It’s just parasites.
[01:20:15] All I can say is, spiritually speaking, that’s not the truth. There are things that can get into people that are demonic. And Jesus was dealing with those ungodly entities which are demonic and satanic. And parasites are negative. They’re not good.
[01:20:32] You could translate into, they’re not of God, they shouldn’t be in us, but they are. They have a bad effect so there is a parallel to say that parasites like demons should not be in us, but they are and cause problems, you know, and so there are parallels, but it’s not actually true to say that parasites are demonic.
[01:20:56] And I’ve already answered the next thing. So in the Bible, so this was my question, in the Bible there is a reference to fasting and demons. What’s the significance? The truth is demons are not parasites. They’re two different things. They’re both bad. Both of them shouldn’t be in you. You need to get them all out.
[01:21:11] But there’s no real crossover significance between demons and parasites. So people that are suggesting that are actually inadvertently or deliberately, I can’t speak to their motive. But the. But what is happening is they are trying to discredit a real spiritual character called Jesus who did real miracles because he is in some way that we can’t understand God. Okay.
[01:21:36] And so I think that’s quite nefarious work to do that.
[01:21:39] Is there anything spiritually wrong with doing Zoe testing? So Zoe testing, Zoe is a company and you send off stool samples and I think you also do blood samples and they’ll tell you what’s going on with your guts and whether you’ve got bacteria missing or whether you’ve got the wrong kind of bacteria, what you need to do to your diet to support etc.
[01:22:01] From a spiritual point of view. So is there anything spiritually wrong? Now my, my kind of feeling was yes, but truth is important. So there is nothing spiritually wrong with doing a Zoe testing.
[01:22:16] But I’ll get onto why it could be wrong in a bit. Is there anything spiritually wrong with receiving gut fauna transplant?
[01:22:26] Again, spiritually, no.
[01:22:29] And it happened to you when you were born, if you were born naturally anyway.
[01:22:35] But it’s interesting. So then I thought, well, what about the energy exchange? Because what if the person that you.
[01:22:42] What if the poop donor.
[01:22:44] Sorry guys, but this is the shortest way to get to the point. What if the poop donor was a really negative, evil or dark person and then you accept what they’ve got into your body? Is there an energy exchange? And the answer is yes, but it’s so minimal as to not worry. Because it’s not human stuff getting into you, it’s just bacteria and stuff that was in a negative environment.
[01:23:08] So then I said, well, is there higher self guidance on vaccines? Because I was thinking about the word transplant. And then, well, what else do we put in our bodies?
[01:23:16] Well, we obviously put sticky pokey things in us and this is where it gets Interesting, because this led on to other information. So if you’re doing harm to your body, your higher self will be telling you not to do it. And also if you’re a parent, because we’ve talked about this many times, until Your children are 18, they’re under your governance spiritually, then your higher self would also be guiding you not to do that to your children.
[01:23:43] So your higher self tells you not to do vaccines because you’re damaging your body simply by the needle that goes into your body.
[01:23:54] And therefore it’s exactly the same. It tells you not to do tattoos and it tells you not to do piercings.
[01:24:02] In my life I’ve had all of those things. It doesn’t stop you being spiritual, but the more spiritual you are, the more is expected.
[01:24:09] And so if a very spiritual person were to do it, then they are going against their guidance. But if an average person was doing these things, they probably not receptive to their guidance anyway.
[01:24:21] So it’s always about, well, it’s not one rule for everyone. It’s kind of like a tapered rule. The more, the higher you are, the further you fall, the higher you are, the more is expected.
[01:24:32] So I’m not saying what you should or shouldn’t do, but there is higher self guidance on damaging your body. And that would include having a needle put into any part of your body. That would include, for example, tattooing, because that’s repetitive pain and damage and trauma to a part of your body, irrespective of the motive for why you’re having it. And it would also include piercings or body modding, you know, any of that nonsense like cutting your tongue in half and stuff like that. Putting stuff under your skin to look like you’ve got horns.
[01:25:07] But anyway, okay, remain going back into neutrality. What’s the message here? Simply that if you would cause harm or damage to your body deliberately, that’s not good. Okay, that’s all we’re really saying there.
[01:25:23] Can we increase our lifespan through diet, exercise, health, vitamins, etc. So.
[01:25:28] Because the whole conversation that I was having with someone was about that kind of stuff. So there’s been some interesting research done into this. So well being and longevity. And I’m showing you something from the British government website actually.
[01:25:48] And I won’t bore us too much, but there is some.
[01:25:53] Where’s the.
[01:25:57] So basically positive emotions can undo the negative effects of negative emotions on health. Now remember, there’s no such thing as positive emotions. What they’re really referring to is being more spiritual coming from the heart, therefore joy Love, compassion, you know, all of those things.
[01:26:15] I knew someone was going to ask that.
[01:26:17] I’ll get to the question that was just asked in a moment. So positive emotions can undo the negative effects of negative emotions on health. So in other words, coming from your spirit can undo the negative effects of things. And then well being predicts better immune function. Well being associated with survival of older populations and well being is inversely related to all cause mortality in older people. Basically well being is this phrase which basically means how happy are not happy, but how much are you more coming from your positive soul and spirit and less from your emotions and your mind. That’s how you can translate that because it’s subjective. Well, being, being. Well being positive can add 4 to 10 years of life and can which pretty good really. So that’s one paper I was trying to find a paper that I’d read years ago which was fascinating and this was the closest I could find to it.
[01:27:19] And I’ll just show you this picture if we can make it a little bit bigger.
[01:27:28] Right. So what this is showing is factors to do with death.
[01:27:34] And you know, smoking is a big factor.
[01:27:41] Promiscuous sex life is another big factor.
[01:27:44] And then gym, gym use and things like that are a factor. But also things like living with a partner, being interested in life because there’s one where they talk about being bored with life, how long you spent in education, in other words, how interested you found life on enthusiasm, frequency. So there’s all these different things. And if you look on the right hand side, I know it’s very small so I’m going to. Can’t really make it any bigger, I’m afraid.
[01:28:20] But basically on the right hand side, the blue squares, Let me just get my pointer.
[01:28:28] The blue squares are factors that improve your longevity and quality of life. And the red ones are detractors.
[01:28:35] And so let me just pull a few out that are blue that are nothing to do with exercise or medicine.
[01:28:41] So if you’re employed, if you have more than one person living in your household, in other words, if you have company, you will live longer. If you’re living with a partner, you will live longer.
[01:28:59] If you use an open fire for heating, you will live longer.
[01:29:05] You know these are heart based things. This is basically saying if you have more joy and companionship and company in your life and more friends and social interactions, you will live longer. This is heart stuff, this isn’t medical stuff. You know, down here we’ve got, okay look, physical activity, gym use. Yeah, but are they quantifying that? Purely on gym use or also that you go to the gym, you meet your friends, you know, in terms of death, things that the big red ones are, just one of them just jumped out.
[01:29:44] But let’s just go down here.
[01:29:46] Let’s have a look at some of the stuff that causes an increase in the chances of you dying. So same sex intercourse, if you’re definitely an evening person, if you nap a lot, if you sleep more than nine hours a day. So in other words, if you’re not interested in life, if anything to do with smoking, basically.
[01:30:22] Oh, but then we got this blue one and what’s it say? It’s if your family visit frequently. So again, social contact, familial contact makes you live.
[01:30:36] Fish oil supplements make you live. Glucosamine supplements make you live. Multivitamin supplements, a little bit of effect. In other words, the paper I originally saw basically said that in a nutshell, exercise and diet help, but they’re not the big issue. The big issue is do you have friends and family around you? If you have friends and family around you and you enjoy life, there’s the clue, guys, the word joy. If you enjoy life, you live longer.
[01:31:04] Now back to the slides because I want to just make something very clear.
[01:31:11] When you’re born, I’m talking about us good humans, okay?
[01:31:14] When we’re born, we already have in our life the amount of time we’ve got.
[01:31:21] So if you’re going to live 84 years, you’re going to live 84 years whether or not you have the right vitamins, minerals and family and friends and social aspect. In other words, basically you can’t make yourself live longer. What they’re saying is you get 10 year, you know, eight to 10 years longer if you do this. What they mean is people that don’t do that will die sooner. So you can certainly die sooner than you should because of how you act. And we’ll get onto that. But basically, if you’re abusing your body, that’s a negative act. And if you’re abusing your body through smoke or promiscuity or drugs or loneliness or working too hard or putting yourself in stressful situations, if you’re abusing your body, you can shorten your lifespan. And then what the statistics look like is that people aren’t abusing their body, are getting 10 more years. No, they’re not getting 10 more years. They would have lived that age. They just haven’t shortened their life. So hopefully I’ve made sense there. We can’t increase our lifespan, but we can Certainly shorten it through doing the wrong things.
[01:32:26] Okay, and at the end of all my questioning, I did ask some other questions, but basically I asked the question, is the high self interested in the physical body? Because I got a sense it wasn’t. And it’s like, no, really not that interested. We’re the ones that are interested.
[01:32:42] And I’m gonna take us through the last slide and then kind of summarize because there is a key point to all of this, and I think once you’ve heard it, then if the penny hasn’t already dropped, it will drop and you’ll know what to do with this information.
[01:33:02] So I draw our attention to the six virtues.
[01:33:05] Humility, gratitude, respect, non judgment, compassion, and unconditional love. And they apply to self, to others, and ultimately to God, the source, one thing everywhere. Okay, and so, for example, respect yourself, but also respect others. And also respect one thing everywhere. God. Okay, so let’s look at some of these things, and I will answer the questions in the chat as well at the end, but let’s just do this so, because maybe I’ll answer them in the coat, in the course of doing this.
[01:33:39] So we’re talking about body, mind, emotions, spirit, etc. So let’s look at how these things are actually used in everyday life.
[01:33:50] So the first example we’ve got there is your body and appearance.
[01:33:55] And I’m going to look at two extremes. So in terms of your body and your overall appearance, which, you know, people could talk about in terms of beauty and sculpting your body at the gym and stuff like that. So if you take it to extremes, one extreme on the right, we’ve got pride and vanity. So that’s the person that can’t walk past a mirror without flexing their triceps, sucking in their gut. Or the girl that, you know, blows kisses at herself or whatever, you know, so pride and vanity is one extreme.
[01:34:28] The dude at the gym, the girl at the gym, whatever. And then at the other end, the other extreme for body and appearance is someone that just doesn’t care. They go out on clean, they look dishevelled, their hair’s all matted, they could make an effort. And it’s not about trying to be pretty, but they actually don’t care.
[01:34:46] And so if their clothes are dirty, they don’t care.
[01:34:50] You know, they got food in their bed, they don’t care.
[01:34:54] So one extreme or the other, okay, they’re just opposite ends of extremes. Is one worse than the other? Is it worse to be disheveled, unclean, and not caring or worse to be pride and vain. See, when we talk about ego, I think it’s obvious pride and vanity is ego.
[01:35:13] But is giving up and not caring also bad? So let’s take it to the virtues.
[01:35:23] So not caring about your body and appearance is not respecting your body and appearance. But it’s also not respecting other people. Because if you smell, because you’re not showering, if you’re looking like you’ve been dragged for a hedge backwards and then you’re going into work, then you’re affecting your environment in a negative way and therefore you’re showing disrespect for others.
[01:35:50] Okay, for example. But equally pride and vanity. So is pride and vanity when someone is so proud of their body and so vain of their body. Well, are they being non judgmental or extremely judgmental about their body? Look how pretty I am, look how beautiful I am, etc.
[01:36:08] So they’re totally, they’ve lost that non judgmentalism and they’ve gone totally into judgmentalism and they’ve lost all humility, you know, etc. So you can see how these extremes are either against a virtue or the total absence of a virtue.
[01:36:26] So let’s just look at a few other examples because I think this is quite useful.
[01:36:31] So when it comes to the mind, one extreme is you could be conceited and have a superiority complex. I’m so clever, look at me, I’m better than these people. Oh, these people are idiots. That kind of self dialogue that people have and maybe you know, people like that and on. But the other end of it is someone that says oh I’m just thick and they down and they just put themselves in the thick box and they don’t expect anything and they don’t try and they don’t apply themselves, you know, maybe at school and they don’t put themselves forwards and they actually just, it’s just the other end of the spectrum. They’re both as bad in the sense that they’re not good.
[01:37:12] So again self deprecation is.
[01:37:17] You could choose any of the virtues. So basically being very judgmental of self, not having any gratitude whatsoever for the brains you have been given or the mind you’ve been given or the capacity that you do have just giving up again.
[01:37:32] Or conceited and superiority. Well I mean no compassion for other people then and no humility whatsoever. So you can see how these all play out when we use the virtues as a means, as like a guide for things. So let’s look at emotions. So on one end you’ve got someone that’s dispassionate. In other words, they don’t have any compassion. So there’s no compassion for others. And they’re aloof.
[01:37:59] And again, that’s very judgmental and disrespectful and no humility. And then the other end, and I think this is actually what a lot of people do.
[01:38:12] A very kind of, you know, the bleeding heart liberal movement is all about emotions and it’s all about wallowing, self pity, drama, llamas, victim mentality.
[01:38:24] That’s just as bad as the other end of the spectrum. And this is all negative emotion stuff.
[01:38:30] And again, it’s all about disrespecting others.
[01:38:34] Total ingratitude, lack of compassion, no love, being totally judgmental of self. Oh, I’m a victim. Oh help me. Oh, everything’s going wrong. You know, drama lama. And what it is, is they just get off on emotions and since all emotions are negative, then they get off on negative emotions without realizing it.
[01:38:56] So you know the last one, and this is a subtler example, so competition. So I play chess, I enjoy playing chess and I try and remind myself before I play a game that it’s about the playing, it’s not about the winning. Because the danger is if it’s about the winning, then you become a show off. And when you win you’re in ego.
[01:39:17] So when in any competition, in any sport, for example, or it could be A levels gccs, I know that’s something that’s going on at the time, then there’s a danger that competition is all about. Oh, sorry, just clicked a button. I should know is competition is all about judgment, judging yourself against others, judging others against yourself.
[01:39:42] It’s about winning, which means someone has to lose. So it’s not respectful of other people. There’s no humility because you know, if you are better than someone at something and you’re not humble, then you’re, then you basically a show off or you’re a sore loser. So if you, if you competition can bring out the other side of it. So what we’re seeing here is examples in everyday life of how this plays out in a more spiritual way.
[01:40:10] So let’s look at the big, you know, let’s, let’s summarize this so we can do something with it.
[01:40:17] So the screen’s just gone red, but it’s blue in the middle.
[01:40:22] Okay.
[01:40:25] And let’s put this white sphere in the middle. You probably guess what that is. So that’s your spirit.
[01:40:30] And by that I mean your spirit and Your soul, your higher self, okay?
[01:40:34] So if we stay in the middle, we stay in the right place. But when we go out to the extremes, pride and vanity or self deprecation or wallowing in self pity or not caring or showing off, we’re in the red zone, we’re in the ego.
[01:40:53] And that dotted white line that I’ve just drawn is a bell shaped curve. And what that means is the medium, the average, is in the middle.
[01:41:04] So if you choose any one of them, like competition, for example, you’ve got sore losers at one end and you’ve got show offs at the other end, but in the middle you’ve just got normal people who just enjoy playing a game of chess, don’t care if they win or lose because it’s just the fun of playing. Let’s look at body appearance. So at one end you got people that look like Stig of the dump, you know, really don’t care about their appearance, let themselves go and, you know, they’ll walk around Tesco’s in their pajamas because they don’t care, you know, because they’ve lost that self respect and respect for other people.
[01:41:49] Okay?
[01:41:50] And at the other end you’ve got the people that are so vain that it takes them four hours to get ready to go out to go to Tesco’s. And then when they do go to Tesco’s, they just go to the sunglasses section because that’s where the mirrors are. So but in the middle you’ve just got normal people, just average.
[01:42:07] And so what’s the take home? When you go to extremes of mind, body, emotions, you go into ego.
[01:42:18] And that actually means that if you are uber competitive at sport, then.
[01:42:30] How can I put this? It’s very difficult to find a top athlete in any discipline who is actually spiritually awake. They could have spiritual potential.
[01:42:41] I’m not saying they’re bad people, don’t get me wrong. But what I’m saying is you can’t be in the middle, in the spirit zone and live at an extreme.
[01:42:53] It’s the same if you look at the people that are uber attractive and know it and use it and work with it, then it shuts down that middle zone of spirituality.
[01:43:08] So if you want to be more spiritual when it comes to mind, body, emotions and stuff, what have we learned? We’ve learned that all emotions are negative and take us into ego.
[01:43:24] So emotions aren’t going to help us to be more spiritual.
[01:43:27] The mind, well, all the stuff that was mind based was near negativity or in negativity. And moving towards.
[01:43:35] So too much mind focus isn’t actually going to help us be more spiritual.
[01:43:42] And it’s the same with the body stuff. We’ve got a body, but your higher self is not interested in your body.
[01:43:49] And this is the kind of point I wanted to make.
[01:43:55] So what’s the deal? Because I’ll go to the questions. It’s relevant, I’ll go to the questions and then we’ll come back to this. So the questions we’ve got is what about piercing your body for medical reasons, ege blood tests? Okay, there’s several things we, we could look at that.
[01:44:09] But what’s your primary reason? Your primary reason is you want to be better, heal.
[01:44:16] You may be suffering and you want to put an end to your suffering. So you’re not doing it out of vanity, unlike a tattoo or a body piercing, you’re not doing it out of vanity, unlike a vaccine, you’re not doing it out of fear. Remember, fear is a negative emotion. It comes from ego. So if you’re doing it because it’s the path to healing and you could say, oh, but am I taking a vaccine? Well, vaccines are preemptive, which means vaccines don’t heal or cure a disease. They’re sold on the premise of prevention. They’re sold on fear. Okay, keeping things very, very simple, I don’t want to really get drawn into that debate. And on all of these things, we’d have to take it on a case by case basis. But your higher self knows what’s in your heart. So if what’s in your heart is fear, then that’s negativity. If what’s in your heart is a genuine, sincere desire to help heal, then your higher self knows that even if what you’re doing technically isn’t right, it is right because your attitude is right. And this is what your higher self cares about. That’s why I wanted to answer that question. It’s relevant to what I was trying to share, but I just want to look at the other question. I haven’t had a chance to read that one yet. So thank you, Millie 2772 for your question on what about medical reasons. Easy blood test. So Pantheon said some dude. Guest life partners are all good. You said this was from government. Insert lots of laugh.
[01:45:43] Guest life partners are all good. You said this was from government.
[01:45:49] Okay, not really sure what that is, but yeah, I think what you’re saying is, well, take it on the surface, not all partners are good.
[01:46:03] But what this is saying is if you’ve got good people around you and there’s joy that is the heart is involved, then it’s good for your health and your well being. Obviously, if you’re living in an abusive relationship, then it’s not good for your well being. And that’s why we’ve got to, we’ve got to try and employ a bit of wisdom here. It’s not a case of Mark said that living with people is good for you. The only people I could find were criminals and drug addicts. So I’ve moved in with them. It’s not, that’s not going to be good for you because their energy, vibration and direction in life is down. So that’s not going to lift you up. So it’s not, it’s not as simple as, you know, as the binary. Living with people is confused. No, living with good people is good for you. Living with people that lift you up, that support you, that love you and that you love is good for you.
[01:47:06] Yeah. Rachel’s saying not all life partners help you live longer. Absolutely. That’s what I’m saying. If you’ve got the wrong one, they will shorten your life. Because one of the factors in those studies was stress. So if someone’s causing you stress, get rid of them.
[01:47:22] Well, that’s a flippant thing for me to say.
[01:47:25] If someone is causing you stress, first of all, go to your heart, be neutral.
[01:47:31] Secondly, look for patterns. Is it you?
[01:47:35] Or in other words, are you being triggered or are they deliberately doing it? Because some people are sociopaths and narcissists.
[01:47:44] And once you’ve figured out whether it’s a you problem or them problem, then you simply have choice. And it could be that you can cope or it could be that, you know, God gave you legs for a reason.
[01:47:55] So again, with all of these things, it’s not, Mark said it’s on a case by case basis. What is your higher self guiding you to do?
[01:48:04] You know, all I’m doing here is sharing broad brushstroke stuff.
[01:48:10] Okay, but going back to what we were summarizing, your higher self doesn’t really care about your body. Now, there is a question in the chat about mind.
[01:48:24] I’ll try and answer that in this answer.
[01:48:28] Your higher self cares about your choices.
[01:48:31] Okay?
[01:48:32] So when I said right at the start, I said mind here doesn’t mean necessarily the conceptual mind. It could also mean the brain. What it means is your faculty to process, engage and create and use thought.
[01:48:44] In other words, the part of you that makes choices. So when you take it at that level, does Your higher self care about the part of you that makes choices only in so much as it’s needed. What it actually cares about is the choices you make and with that, the beliefs that you hold. Because if you remember that from episode 70, so beliefs are at the top. Then you’ve got the attitudes that the beliefs create, and then you’ve got the thoughts, actions and deeds at the bottom.
[01:49:12] So your higher self is interested in the choices that you make, in particular the good ones. It’s guiding you to make the good choices. It doesn’t force you. That’s why it’s interested in your choice. Because here’s the good thing, here’s what your ego is telling you to do.
[01:49:28] You decide, okay?
[01:49:30] And when you get it right, because there is a meaning to the word right and wrong. When you get it right, your higher self grows, your spirit, well, your soul grows in experience.
[01:49:41] And you are closer to, to the source, spiritual growth.
[01:49:47] So your higher self doesn’t care about your body, but what it does care about is your beliefs about your body, your attitude towards your body and what you do with it.
[01:50:01] Because your body is how you do do the doing in life.
[01:50:05] So it’s not that your body is worthless, it’s just a vehicle.
[01:50:10] What your higher self cares about is what do you do with this vehicle?
[01:50:15] And so to answer the question about what about getting an injection, like giving blood?
[01:50:20] Well, if the overall purpose of that adventure is good and you’ve made some good choices, like, I’ve been really on well for ages, but I want to get to the bottom of it. And so I’m going to have this blood test to find out if it’s something that I can just. Maybe I’ve got a parasite and it just, you know, blah, blah, blah.
[01:50:40] In other words, your journey. You’re choosing to do something that you believe is the right thing.
[01:50:46] Someone said just do what is right. But how do you know what is right? Doesn’t matter. Just do what you believe is right. Because if you believed it was right at the time, then it’s like you’ve done the best that you can do. Don’t overthink it. Okay, so your higher self, in this picture of mind, body, spirit, higher self, is your spirit, mind, body and emotions, right?
[01:51:10] We are done with emotions.
[01:51:13] No emotion takes you in a good direction. All emotions take you towards darkness.
[01:51:19] Extrapolating out. Okay, There is no such thing as a good emotion. The person that has the highest level of spirituality on the planet at this time has practically no engagement with emotions. But it doesn’t mean like they’re like, spocking.
[01:51:33] It simply means that what they do engage with is the spirit. So their life is full of more joy and more love and all of those things that come above the line when you engage with spirit.
[01:51:45] So emotions gone. Okay.
[01:51:50] Body does matter because it’s the canvas upon which you demonstrate your choices. So if you choose to abuse it, harm it, over, glorify it over, abuse it. In other words, if you go to any of the extremes, ego, the opposite of spirituality, darkness, There you go.
[01:52:11] So your body matters in so much as it’s the canvas upon which you demonstrate the qualities that you have as a person.
[01:52:19] And when you. When you’re giving positive guidance, it’s normally about life. And life happens through your body. Okay, so that’s the value of the body. Is it to be abused, Treated like a pair of sandals? No, it’s the middle road.
[01:52:37] You can love it, you can respect it, you can be grateful for it. You can go through all the six virtues. You know, unconditionally love it. Remember I said it’s where you are right now is what matters. Because if you unconditionally love yourself, then you’re not judging yourself, saying, I’m not there yet. You’re saying, well, I’m here, and from here I’m gonna grow.
[01:52:58] Okay? There’s always room for growth.
[01:53:02] So it’s all coming together now.
[01:53:04] Mind, where you process thoughts. And fundamentally, what’s the purpose of that? What beliefs are you creating and holding on to? Are they holding you back or are they supporting you?
[01:53:15] What attitudes are you demonstrating? That’s mind.
[01:53:19] Are they positive or negative?
[01:53:21] And what thoughts are you choosing to embrace?
[01:53:26] And the rest of it is just a distraction, which is why, again, the person that is the most spiritual person on the planet actually gives very little time to the mind that is thought, brain, whatever, compared to the average and still good spiritual person. Okay, so emotions being mind, a useful tool, understand its purpose. To hold good beliefs, to hold supportive beliefs, to demonstrate good attitude, and to make good choices.
[01:53:58] Okay? Body useful because it’s the canvas upon which you demonstrate all of these qualities that you’re learning.
[01:54:06] And spirit should be the place where we aspire to be. And that goes back to everything we said in the last 72 episodes about how to be more spiritual, which is fundamentally choice.
[01:54:22] It always ends on choice. Guys, I’ve ended every single show by saying, keep making good choices. Now I’m going to say, because of the last few episodes, keep making the right choice.
[01:54:35] And if you want to know More about why I say that then look at the episode on Good, Bad, Right and Wrong.
[01:54:40] But a bit of a journey today.
[01:54:44] Thank you for joining me on this journey. I hope that you’ve got something useful from it.
[01:54:49] We really just scratched the surface and yeah, really, I think very useful. So I would.
[01:55:02] We don’t do homework on this show, but I’d like to leave you with a little exercise and in fact I’m going to guide you through the exercise now. But I appreciate it’s late, so if you feel you need to go then you can listen again. But just for a few moments, I want you to just close your eyes and this is a totally an intuitive exercise and this isn’t about self judgment. So you can park that. This is coming from accepting that where you are is where you are. Because it’s from here that you’re going to get to the next great place of being. Okay?
[01:55:41] So I want you to just relax. I’m just going to start to relax as well. So you can join me in becoming a bit stiller, a bit more present.
[01:55:50] Because what I want you to do, what I invite you to do, is keep listening, close your eyes if you can.
[01:56:02] You have your own personal pie chart and only you know what that will be.
[01:56:13] So as I say each of the different parts of you, I want you to notice what percentage of your typical awake awareness is spent on that.
[01:56:27] And just be honest, just be humble.
[01:56:32] This is yours to know.
[01:56:35] Because when you know, then you can say, okay, do I want to give up some of that attention to grow more in that other direction? For example, do I want to spend less time looking at my emotions and more time being aware spiritually?
[01:56:51] So I’m going to say the different parts in whatever order that I say them. And as I say each one, I just want you to intuitively allow yourself to become aware of what your, how big that slice of the pie is for you. You can do numbers and percentages if you want or you can just get a sense of it.
[01:57:11] Okay, take a deep breath.
[01:57:16] You can visualize it if you want or you can just be with it mind.
[01:57:26] So that’s all the thinking stuff.
[01:57:32] See how big that is, how much of the pie that is body.
[01:57:42] Again, just notice what that’s like, how much generally is your awareness on body stuff, how do you look, how much do you weigh, what you eat, that kind of thing, diets and exercise regimes, you know, the stuff.
[01:58:06] And then emotions.
[01:58:10] Be honest, how much are you being had by emotions? Because we don’t have emotions. They have us.
[01:58:19] We don’t really have thoughts, they have us. It’s just that we get to choose whether we let them.
[01:58:24] But just become aware of how much emotional stuff is going on. Not just right now, but I mean generally how much it’s driving you and messing up your life, quite frankly or not.
[01:58:46] Ego, no judgment, brutal honesty.
[01:58:59] It’s always there. So how much spirit or spirituality, you don’t need to dissect it down into its components. Just generally spirituality, orientation towards good, towards God, the source, one thing, everywhere, love.
[01:59:26] Just notice what how much of the pie that is. Be honest with yourself.
[01:59:33] So in whatever way is useful to you, whether you can see the whole pie and the distribution or you’ve just got a sense of it, is there anything you’d like less of and is there anything you feel that would be helpful to have more of?
[01:59:57] And then just make that choice? Because it always comes down to choice.
[02:00:04] And I’ll give you a little clue. If you want choices to be powerful, make them with your heart.
[02:00:12] Don’t try and understand that sentence. Just. Just do it.
[02:00:23] I’m going to leave you now. It’s the end of the show.
[02:00:26] But I’ll be here next week and I’ll be here on Sunday as well, which is the time with books thing, that project.
[02:00:37] But for now, just sit, stay where you are, enjoy it.
[02:00:43] Reflect.
[02:00:45] Mind, body, emotions, spirit, ego.
[02:00:50] What do you want more of? What do you want less of?
[02:00:55] God bless you and genuinely keep making the right choice and I will see you soon enough.
[02:01:04] Thank you for being awesome and joining me for this episode. I’m truly grateful. As a spiritual person, I hope it’s inspiring to realize that you’re not alone and that more and more like minded people just like you are enjoying this live show. This means that you’re part of a growing and awakening community. And together we’re all finding the way back to God. Going deeper into than just ideas and beliefs to experience firsthand real spiritual awakening. This is a journey of the heart, not the head.
[02:01:38] So take this moment to just become a little bit stiller, more present, more neutral.
[02:01:48] Now notice what you notice when I ask you this question.
[02:01:55] What in this particular episode has been most useful?
[02:02:02] Now, who in your life at this particular time would benefit the most from knowing this too? Maybe it’s one person or maybe it’s more than one. But because sharing is caring, it’s really nice to know that you can actually share this show with them and therefore help me.
[02:02:19] This show is completely free to enjoy and benefit from now. Speaking of free stuff. [02:03:13] Who knows what we’ll be discussing next week and the next question or topic might even be yours. Perhaps there’s a reason you’ve been guided to this show.
[02:03:22] So God bless you. And remember, real change starts when we put into practice what we’re learning so that we go from thinking and doing to finally being.
[02:03:40] So take what you’ve learned today and keep on being the best version of you.
[02:03:46] God bless.
==== BONUS SECTION ====
[02:04:15] About one and a half hours into the live show, we were discussing lifespan and the fact that it’s not so much that you can extend your lifespan, rather that certain things you do that might abuse yourself or, you know, harm your body etc, or lose your love for life can shorten your lifespan. And so I kind of said, look, there’s nothing you can do to lengthen your lifespan.
[02:04:40] And that is the truth.
[02:04:42] However, there are, broadly speaking, two ways that people sometimes live longer than was originally intended.
[02:04:49] And if I ask you to cast your memory back to the, the slide with all the different, the picture of the different emotions on and you’ve got the arrow pointing up and it says love and you’ve got the arrow pointing down and it says darkness.
[02:05:08] There’s they’re the two kind of polar extremes. And love would ultimately mean God and darkness would be. You could choose any of the kind of iconic figures, Lucifer, Satan, etc. The devil.
[02:05:21] And what can happen is external forces, good or bad, can, in ways I’m not going to describe here, extend your life because rudimentary life down here is about the longevity of the physical body and let’s just say through blessing, if it’s on the side of goodness and light and love or through dark magic and other things, then those that serve goodness can be given a bit more time in very rare circumstances. And those that serve darkness can be given a lot more time. And that’s not as rare. And you just have to look around at the world we live in and go, some of these powerful groups or families seem to have a lot of extremely old agents.
[02:06:16] And they’re not doing good, they’re doing bad. And I’ll just say dot, dot, dot, draw your own conclusions. So there are circumstances where lifespan can be extended. But I just wanted you to reflect on this.
[02:06:29] If you are, if you go right, if the logic you’re going to use is right, well, the thing I should do is be really, really good and then I might live longer.
[02:06:38] I thought. Think you’re missing the point.
[02:06:41] If you are really, really good, that means you’re also really, really spiritual. And if you become truly spiritual, as we’ve described in this live show, then the focus isn’t on the physical body and there’s an acceptance that everything that has a beginning has an end. And that this is just one life of many.
[02:06:58] And I can tell you from experience, to know that you will die and to be completely, completely comfortable with it is so liberating to live without that fear of what happens at the end. Because, you know, and I don’t mean believe, I mean know through spiritual experience that this isn’t the end, this is just one of many, and that, you know, the goal isn’t to live as long as possible. The goal is to live as well as possible. And by well, I mean as aligned with love.
[02:07:30] So touching on a few things here, but I just wanted to kind of add that in.
[02:07:35] And this episode has been long enough, so there’s so much more we could kind of say on what I’ve just brought up. But I just wanted to plant it there and if it provokes questions and you want me to go into it some more, then of course just get in touch and I can add it to the future episode. And we can discuss this in a lot more detail if you want, if that would be helpful to you.
[02:07:56] But I just thought, you know, in this, in the seeking of truth, share what you know. And on that note, God bless you. Thank you for listening to this whole episode and sincerely, one of the, you know, the algorithm isn’t on our side. If you, if you mention God or spirituality, you basically get shadow banned. So I’m, I’m relying on you, I’m relying on good people to share this with good people.
[02:08:21] And, you know, I’m not asking anything more. Just share it, do the thumbs up, do the like and all that stuff. Obviously subscribe if you haven’t already. That also helps. But the way that a positive message spreads is from one heart to another.
[02:08:38] So from this heart here to you.
[02:08:41] God bless you. Thank you. Have a great rest of your day, and I’ll catch you in the next episode.
