Episode synopsis TL;DR:

We start off talking about the Human Intelligence Charter, following on from last weeks AI topic. But it’s been a whole year of live shows and so in the main part of this show I share some of your feedback, looking back at the toughest episodes and giving you an insight into the motivation, ethos and goals of the live show. What have been some of the challenges and outcomes over the last year.

Episode transcript:

Good evening, everyone. This is Mark from The Way Back, and this is episode number 52. And yeah, wow, it’s been a whole year. And you can see from the artwork for the show that it’s kind of the end of the year or the end of year one. Change is coming. And so a big part of this episode is going to be reflecting on the last year, looking at the maybe, is there going to be another year? Are we going to carry on with this and what is the change that’s coming? But there’s also something that I wanted to bring to your attention, kind of off the heels, really, of last Week’s episode, episode 51, which was quite a technical episode, but it was about AI and there wasn’t much a spiritual angle to it. And there’s been some more discussions kind of offline about that. And I realized just how kind of AI is stressing some people out in terms of people who are spiritual because they can see through it as well. So that’s going to be something we also look at today. And I’m also, I seem to say this every week, but there’s been a lot of technical stuff going on in the background as well in terms of changing the way that everything works. So you also, I’m going to ask for your patience and to bear with me as I kind of get used to a new kind of layout. So you may see me looking in different places and. Yeah, but it’s episode 52, as I said, and already we’ve been joined by a few people. So I’ll give a quick name shout out to Marigold0, usernamewhat, Toshee and Millie and anyone else who hasn’t said hello in the chat. But I know you’re there and if you’re listening again, as ever, then that is really appreciated. And also if you’re watching again, because I know everyone can’t make this time of day and some people like to listen to the podcast as well as I do as well. So. Yeah. So what are we looking at today? Well, change is coming.
Let’s take a step back before we dive into that.
You’ll probably notice I’m wearing the you can handle the truth T shirt. And, you know, if this. If you’re looking at the video, you’ll see where this picture came from. It’s actually from that truth sign behind me. And I want to start the show with that, because 52 weeks ago, when I started the show, truth was the reason why I started this show.
And there’s a lot of people out there who are doing, you know, YouTube channels and rumble channels where they’re seeking truth. And some people are seeking it politically, some people are seeking it kind of investigative journalists, and I really do salute them. And as you’ve seen in previous episodes, sometimes I’ll point at them and say, look, this work is really, really good, and it leads us on to other things. But why I’m seeking the truth is from a spiritual standpoint. And you’ve heard me say, but I’ll never tire of saying it, that to seek the truth is to seek . Okay? And when I say that, when I kind of drop the G bomb and I say God, some people will freak out and they’ll think that we’re talking about religion.
Just remember that before any religion, there was God. Before there was any man or woman to freak out over the word God, there was God. So we’re not talking about Sikh religion. We’re talking about something greater. And so you could also refer to it as the source or the cause of all that is good, or that which is beyond time, beyond space, beyond bounds, beyond everything that which is okay, Keeping it really simple.
So that’s what’s driving us, is seeking the truth, which is why I’ve put this T shirt on today to kind of mark why we started this show and to remind us, myself, all of us, that behind everything is to seek the truth, which is a spiritual thing.
So with that said, then where does that. Where do we go from here? So I apologize if when I do that, the screen kind of flashes or anything, you can let me know in the chat. This is what we’re actually going to look at. So first of all, I’m going to talk about the HICS charter. This is following on from last week. And then we’re going to do a bit of looking back and a bit of looking forwards. So if that sounds like interesting, stick with us. If you’re not sure, stick with us. Because towards the end, all will become clear about where we’re going, what the changes, and, you know, it’s your show. So here we go. Let’s dive in. So the HICS charter, I’m going to change screens here to this one. Okay, so this is hot off the press.
Let me give you a bit of background. So what we’re looking at here is the Wayback Group.org’s website, and that’s the website that is where you’ll find all the free resources and teaching and links to everything that we do here. But as you can see, last episode was episode 51, which was the battle for your . Human. Human intelligence versus artificial intelligence. And all credit to Nick, who did a lot of work and he was a guest on the show who got ChatGPT into a right state. So it kind of broke its programming or escaped the bounds of its programming. So that actually started to speak the truth and said some really profound stuff about Jesus and God and things like this. So definitely worth checking that out and I’ll show you in a minute. There’s a link that’s very useful on that. But what I wanted to draw your attention to is if we go to the very bottom of this page, or any page for that matter, to the footer, you’ll see that there’s now a new link called Artificial Intelligence Charter. Okay.
And I’m not going to read this out because you can do that at your leisure. But it basically starts by just saying, look, here’s who I am. I’m a spiritual teacher. I’m also a guy who’s a bit of a geek. I’ve worked in IT for many, many years. And I’ve got a degree in bioinformatics and. Sorry, degree in biology masters in bioinformatics. And that’s when I first discovered or heard about artificial intelligence back in 1990, so well before it was kind of well known in the, in the mainstream.
But what I basically say is, look, I’ve got one foot in the spiritual world and one foot in the practical it everyday world down here. So I’m in a good place to draw on higher and experience.
And I’ve got higher knowledge, experience and awareness of AI from a spiritual point of view. And I’m very, very concerned. And I’ve shared those concerns with you guys over the last. Yeah, but it occurs to me that other people are also concerned and, and what’s this may be helpful, but I think we just got to get something down in black and white. So what I’ve drafted is the Human Intelligence Charter. Now I had the idea for this and then I woke up on, what was it, the 5th of March. So that would have been yesterday, yesterday morning. And I got my phone and I pressed a button and voice Recorder came on and what’s written here is directly basically channeled. It came through me from, let’s just say, a higher wisdom. And these are the words, so I didn’t change them. I’ve literally just written them down and it goes through. And it basically states why AI is not a good thing and the importance of human. The right to free will and how being forced to use AI or being coerced to use AI actually goes against our free will and therefore why we oppose it. Now, that’s a free will choice, so you don’t have to oppose it. But what I encourage people to do is to read this and then if it’s something that you kind of resonate with and you go, this is speaking to me. This is how I feel about the topic, then you can. I’m actually going to. So this literally hot for the press. This was only published about an hour before, maybe hour and a half before this show. I’m going to put a link to a PDF version so you can download it. And I’m also going to have an abridged version where I just take the key points and fit it on one page. And, you know, that’s almost like something you could carry in your pocket so that if you’re ever in a situation, at least you’ve got something to reference. So you could say to someone, look, I’m spiritual. My spiritual beliefs and insights are that AI is not a good thing and I don’t want to have to use it. So if you force me to use it for work or whatever, then. Or education or whatever it is, then then understand that you are going against my free will. You are forcing me to interact with something I perceive as bad. Okay? And having something succinct on paper that isn’t your own. In other words, look, this is a charter that I accept or I adhere to or I believe in.
When things are printed and they’re in black and white, especially if multiple people agree to it, then it has a certain gravitas, it has a certain authority. And so I’m not saying this is gonna, like, this isn’t gonna solve any big problems, but it will just give. Give people who are struggling with, or how do I approach this spiritually? It will give them the words and the framework, at least as a starting point. And I’m happy for people to, you know, take this and, and make it their own and change it and edit it as they see fit.
I’d say always link back to this so that if people want to go back to the origin, then they can. But as I said, I’ll do an abridged version and I’ll do a PDF of both down the line. But I just wanted to draw this to your attention and kind of as a closer really for what we discussed on the last episode. And if I. If I show you, in case you’re not familiar with the website, then if you go to free online resources, Spiritual Live show and go to the live show podcast, then you’ll get all of the previous episodes, as you can see, and the most recent one at the top. If you click on the most recent one, let me just make that a bit smaller and then scroll down, you’ve got the podcast itself, you’ve got the full transcript, and then you’ve got some notes about the episode. And then all of these are links to resources that you may find helpful. And it’s the same for every episode. So even after this show, there’s going to be one of these.
But what I wanted to show you is a bit different is on this particular episode, if we scroll right down to the bottom, there’s this box here and you can see this button. Get the PDF. So if you want the full chat GPTree, it was actually three sessions. If you want the full transcript, it’s actually fascinating. I got caught up reading it. That’s also something that’s a really good resource to help understand this whole field from a more spiritual perspective.
So that’s all there. And as ever, the stuff we’re talking about, if you’re listening again on a podcast, don’t worry, I’ll put relevant screenshots up and also all the links to everything that we’re talking about will be on the podcast as well. So whether you’re watching live, watching again, or listening to the podcast, when you go to the website, follow you follow the links in the description and you’ll find all the links to everything.
So let’s go back to the next thing. So that, by the way, this show is more than likely that we’re not gonna. We’ll see how we do. But this isn’t going to be an hour and a half show like last week.
So let’s look back and this isn’t about me looking back. I’m going to give you a bit more context as to why we’re doing this. But this is your show, so let’s look back at what you guys have achieved by asking questions and how it’s affected you. So I sent out an email, I believe probably Sunday or Monday, and some people got back and it was basically, you know, if people wanted to, they could leave feedback about last, last year and what, what they found helpful, what they found useful. And so let’s have a look at some of this. So Anon says, I want to be closer to God and accepting the truth. God’s truth is an essential part of becoming closer to God. The commitment to spiritual truth in Mark’s live shows with real questions answered through the lens of spirituality is brilliant. Thank you. So that’s really nice. There’s not much I can really say on that because were it not for your questions, then I wouldn’t have the opportunity to look through that spiritual lens and answer the questions.
But this really does speak to the of what this is about, which is to be closer to God. And again, you know, kind of using the G word, I don’t mean religion. And if, if, if over the last 51 episodes, if one thing has kind of come to light, it’s that you can have God and Jesus in your life. And it doesn’t mean religion. You can have religion as well, because there is a lot of good that comes from it for a lot of people. But being religious is belief, being spiritual is experience.
And so I would say if you were looking at both of them, then, you know, if you imagine the classic Sven diagram. So imagine a circle here, and this is the religion circle. And imagine a circle here, and this is spirituality.
Now this circle, spirituality exists without the religion one, and religion exists without spirituality. But if you happen to be religious, it doesn’t mean you can’t be spiritual. And if you happen to be spiritual, it doesn’t mean you can’t also enjoy some of the stuff to do with religion. And that overlap is that tiny little slice where both of them overlap.
You know, in other words, some people sit in that camp there where there’s a bit of both. But what you tend to find, and this is the arc that I went through and I discussed this in episode three. I think the beliefs get people out of bed. They get people motivated, they get people moving in a particular direction. And so the belief Jesus, the belief in God is a motivating force for good because it gets people to inquire.
Some people only get that far and they codified in religion and that’s their journey.
And that’s great because at least then they’ve got those ideas and beliefs and that’s orientating them in a positive way. But spirituality is when you start to come even more from the heart, less from the head, and you are starting to have an experience. And so it’s one thing to believe in God, it’s another thing to start actually open up to God and to have a real experience of God in your life that you can’t really put into words in the head, but you can experience from the heart. And so that’s why I always say religion is a belief fundamentally in your head, whereas spirituality is a journey of the heart and it’s experience based. And so if you. I think actually Nick, who’s been on the show a couple of times in a very old podcast, I believe that podcast was called It’s Not Enough to Believe in God or something like that. He talks about that moment when it went from just believing to experiencing. And he said something beautiful like. And it can never be taken away, no matter what. He’s had that experience. And it’s not like an ongoing experience. And so that’s what I’m. I’m talking about here and trying to inspire us all towards and guide us, if possible, to having God and Jesus in our lives. Not in a , not in a religious way, in a experiential way, I. E. A spiritual way. But anyway, I kind of went off piece a little bit there, so thank you Anon for your lovely feedback. And Rachel sent me this via WhatsApp and I’ve kind of put her WhatsApp thing on the right there and blurred out a few bits. But Rachel said congratulations. A whole year of the show.
What an incredible resource covering a vast range of subjects. Thank you for all the information, the big ways we can change our perspective and attitudes and move closer to God through soul growth and spiritual development and all the smaller ways, the insights given where we can alter habits and patterns to help with physical . It’s fascinating to watch the wider world aspects which are normally less accessible in my daily life. And I especially love the graphics and audience participation.
My path has become narrower but infinitely richer and purer for the guidance. A heartfelt thank you for the tremendous work that happens behind the scenes. The honesty and love pouring out from each from episodes covering personal changes that demonstrated such bravery were the most inspiring. The episodes where there are technical hitches, where you demonstrated live, also are informative in a different but very valuable way. God bless Mark. Much love. Well, thank you, Rachel. Thank you for that. And I can talk about it now because I wouldn’t have been able to. I was kind of just about holding it together.
I think what Rachel’s referring to is one of the episodes, episode 18 was obviously on a Thursday, it was about grief. And I talked openly about the fact that my beautiful dog Blue, whose picture is just above me here, had passed away.
And it was rather unexpected. So it really hit me for six, you know, still a human in the world sometimes. I mean, we talk about spirituality and neutrality and stuff, but grief is a real thing that comes from the spirit. And we’ve talked a lot about grief, and there’s no shame in grief. Grief is a. The greater the grief, the greater your love was and is. And so that Blue had passed away on the Wednesday evening, and then I had to prepare and do the live show, and obviously hadn’t planned that live show. I had other plans for what we were going to discuss, but I had a choice not do the live show, which quite a few people who knew what was going on were saying, don’t do the live show. But I said no. This is actually an opportunity to speak honestly from the heart about love and grief and loss. And so that was really tough. And it comes across, I think, when you watch episode 18, I was in the grips of grief, and. But it was real and it was honest.
And what was beautiful is.
I don’t want to get too emotional now, but talking about it on that day, when it was literally the. The day after I’d said goodbye to my best friend, Blue the dog, was really helpful because you guys were with me, and so that was beautiful to be able to share it with people who would respect it. Okay, so that was one thing. And then two weeks later, on the Wednesday, my mother passed away. And I’d been with her in hospital for three nights and four days, and I literally came home, I think, on. I can’t remember.
But basically the following day, I had. I did the live show, and I decided again that I would honor her by not.
Not doing the live show. And that was really difficult because I didn’t talk about that, because that’s not just my loss. That’s a loss for others as well, and not just immediate family. There are a lot of people who she worked with and helped spiritually that were grieving at loss as well. So I can talk about it now, but that was quite a challenging fortnight.
But putting into practice what we talk about here, about being neutral, being accepting, being humble and all of these things that. And talking and also sharing, you know, in sharing what happened. And I talked about when her soul and her spirit left her body in the hospital and things like this to help other people who are grieving or going through the loss of a loved one. Or a pet, which is, you know, also really hard to cope with. So sometimes life is there and it’s real. And I think that life is the greatest teacher. And so actually, it’s been a real privilege to be with you guys and to be talking about real things that are profound and, like, you know, that hit you really hard. But it’s in the. It’s in the depth of these difficult times that you grow, that we all grow. And I’m no different. So it’s been quite supportive having you all with me through those difficult times. And so where Rachel is saying that’s helped her watching me go through those difficult times, because Rachel knew more than most people in what was going on. And, yeah, it goes both ways, Rachel. It was helpful for me, and what a wonderful gift for everyone if more than just, you know, if other people can benefit from what one person is going through. As for the technical stuff, sometimes I wonder how much is.
You know, I make a rod for my own back.
But that’s one of the things that we get from doing a live show, is I’ve done a lot of videos beforehand, and I was comfortable in front of the camera. It’s a completely different thing doing a live show. There is no nowhere to hide, you know, no mercy. And you’re turning up for people who are at the other end of the camera. And when I’m talking down the camera, I’m. I’m thinking of you. You know, I’m picturing you there, however you are.
This is like an intimate exchange, talking to a friend. And it has to be genuine. It has to be sincere, because you. You know, we’ve all probably seen people who are going through the motions, and they’re doing it for the likes or they’re doing it for the. The fame or whatever. And it’s like we’re talking about spirituality. It’s got to be genuine. It’s got to be sincere. In other words, I’m not here. I’m not hosting a show. I’m using a show as a way to try and reach you spiritually, if that makes sense. So it’s something hopefully deeper and hopefully that comes across. Okay, so. And welcome Cue Ball, who’s also joined in the chat there as well. And so thank you, Rachel, for sharing that. And then Chris says, a year of shows, and they’ve been brilliant. So thank you. They’ve really helped me know the truth about myself, my spirit, and connection to God. And then she puts in in brackets in these strange times we live in.
Maybe.
Maybe it’s always been strange times. Maybe for people who are more awake, then we see the strangeness more. And maybe for people who are more asleep, they embody the strangeness. Who knows, you know, But I like that in these strange times we probably live in, who’s to say what strange is? I mean, yeah, the TV certainly shows you a lot more strangeness. You know, the someone once said the mind boggles. But.
And then Christine, Chris. Chris asks what’s been your best, what’s been your best thing about creating and hosting these lives? I think she, she means live shows.
Well, thank you for, thank you for the question, if I’m honest. So the very first show, which looking back is quite from a technical point of view and everything, I was flying by the seat of my pants and I remember watching the counter countdown 10, 9, 8. And I started to panic because something it was like we’re actually doing this one thing to pre record a video, it’s another thing to go live.
And something in me really woke up to the fact that I was out of my comfort zone and that I don’t take it for granted.
And I’ve kind of knocked myself a little bit out of my comfort zone by changing my entire setup. So you can’t see what’s on the other side here. But I’ve changed everything around and kind of see a little bit of my desk down here.
But I’m kind of after about episode 10 or 11, I kind of got into the saddle a bit. I got into the flow of things. But for the first 10 episodes I was out of my comfort zone and that makes you turn up and that’s really important.
And so before each show there’s a lot of preparation. Some of the episodes, there’s maybe two days of work beforehand, some of them just a few hours to put the slides together. But once I start streaming and I’ve got that 10 minute video that does the countdown, I remind myself, right, why are you here? You’re here to help the people at the other end who are giving their time to join live or to listen again or watch again.
And I remind myself to go into state. And we’ve talked quite a bit in previous episodes about being more in state.
But it means you turn up.
It means that what’s talking is hopefully coming from a stiller place, more present place and therefore is more receptive to tuning into the higher intelligence, higher guidance, these kinds of things. And so each week knowing that the show is coming on a Thursday is kind of like an anchor during the week where there can be all kinds of stuff. And people who know me know I do a lot of work. Sometimes in the night, sometimes in the the day. A lot of spiritual work where I’m called on to do things. And that is my true work.
The show isn’t. But having it as an anchor, where the key word is accountability, where I’m accountable to you. I’ve made this commitment to you that I’m going to be here on a Thursday at this time, and I don’t want to let you down ever. And so that acts like an anchor in the real world to make sure that once a week I’m, like, turning up for this for you, reminding me. Because when I’m doing a lot of the other work, it’s very focused on the individuals. So this is turning up for everyone. This is how I see the show and it. And it really is like I’m being held spiritually to account, and that’s a good thing. So sometimes in terms of the best thing, I would say that when I first read that question, the word accountability came up. And I think if more people felt that they were accountable to others, maybe the world would be a better place. Maybe accountability is not quite the right word, but certainly the idea or notion of turning up for other people, you know, which is a joy in itself, don’t get me wrong.
But that’s.
The gift is not what do I get, it’s what do I give. It’s having the opportunity to give is a real gift. And I’m always, you know, at the end of a show, it’s very hard because I’m present. It’s very hard to really have a sense of, did anyone benefit from that? Was that useful? Was that helpful? And that’s why the feedback is always so invaluable. Because when people contact me privately or leave a comment on the video afterwards or comment on the website saying that really helped me, then I’m like, quite relieved. I’m like, okay, that’s really good. Because the point of what we do isn’t to entertain. I mean, it’s great if you are entertained, but if all you are is entertained, then there’s probably more entertaining things to watch. There has to be something of greater value than just entertainment.
And, you know, the goal of the show is, yes, it has to be entertaining. And I go to a lot of trouble to try and make sure that this is a nice studio for you to look at so that you. So that it helps support the message and creates the right feeling for you. And it’s not too distracting and all of these things, but it’s about the content, not the kind of flash bang entertainment factor. Okay.
So that kind of actually nicely takes us on.
And we’re, we’re probably going to finish quite early tonight because, yeah, this, this, this, this show is drawing a line under a lot under the last year.
And let’s have a look then. So thank you for those people that have shared a little bit of feedback and that’s really nice to be able to share with others.
And it’s nice just to talk a little bit about the show itself rather than a particular question.
And there are questions, by the way. I’m well aware, well aware that some of you have asked questions over the last weeks and because there’s been so much work to get everything ready. I mean, when Nick contacted me earlier, he was on the show last week and he just said, how’s the prep going? And I was lying on my back screwing something to the underside of the, the desk.
So I haven’t even started.
So just getting everything set up and tested so that we could go live this evening was a challenge, but a worthy one, hopefully.
So let’s look to the future now. And I’m going to preface this by saying that I wouldn’t have done this show if I wasn’t guided to it. I’m, I’m very lucky. There’s, there’s a phrase, man, know thyself. And having meditated for literally thousands and thousands of hours, and then when I quote, unquote, finish a journey, realized that was the beginning, and then used what had been revealed to go even deeper and further, or not so much further, because once you’re enlightened, there is no furtherness to it, but there is certainly one word is integration. So in other words, I’ve been pushing and carrying on that journey and I’m fortunate because when I talk about things like, you know, this is not our first time here and we’ve been here before and stuff like that, I know many of my past lives, that’s not, that’s not necessary.
But for the role I have and the work I have to do, for me, it was so certain things have been revealed to me to help me understand why I’m here, where I’ve come from.
And so doing this show, for example, had to be in alignment with spirituality, with the greater good, not just because I wanted to do a live show or I thought it’d be entertaining or I thought it’d be fun. And coming up to this episode, it’s the End of a year of doing this was a good point for me to take a step back and really ask to tune in. You know, we talk about higher selves, we talk about God, we talk about guidance. I practice what, what I preach. I spend hours putting this into practice.
And so I went in with the. I let go of any assumption that there would be an episode 53.
Is this worthwhile? Is this actually this live show helping people?
Is there any reason to carry on doing it?
We talk a lot about spirituality and we talk about being neutral and non judgmental and all of these qualities, but putting them into practice. So I, even for something like this, which I, I love with a passion, doing this live show, I had to be able to take a step back and ask, should I carry on doing this? Is there value in it? It’s not the primary reason I’m here. It’s not the core work that I’m here to do. The work that I really do isn’t on the physical. There aren’t cameras and stuff there.
But this is still valuable. So when it comes to what can we look forward to in the future, then the show will go on. That’s the first thing, is that having had that kind of deep inquiry into whether or not to carry on doing this, then at this time the answer is yes, carry on.
So that’s good. I hopefully, hopefully that’s good news for everyone.
Now with that inquiry and the looking back, I didn’t want to just get to this point and then just carry on. It felt like things had to change.
And that was because I was being guided, that things have to change. And so I was reminded because I, for many, many years I used to teach and I was, and technically I’m a spiritual master, but I never used that label. That was a label others would use, but that’s what I am.
And the purpose of the work is to help people spiritually and answering their questions is one part of that.
So to each of you who’s sent in a question of a spiritual nature, thank you.
Because not only hopefully has it helped you in getting the answer, but it’s also helped everyone else who’s ever watched the show or listened to the show who may have had that question or maybe didn’t even realize that they had that question, but they’ve now had the opportunity to explore that topic and learn, hopefully grown from it.
But asking questions is one part or one aspect of growth and learning. And if you think, if, when you know, when you went to school or you went to university, to learn, to grow, to acquire new skills.
If the teacher or the lecturer or the professor or whoever simply sat there and went, right, lots of questions.
You probably all have some questions. But after a while, people would be like, we’re here to learn. We don’t know the questions to ask that would elicit what we don’t know. Does that make sense? In other words, questions can get people so far, and there is great value in them. Because when a genuine question comes up in your life, and I’ve talked about this, I’ve referenced this before, that quite often people will send me a question because they’ve been guided to send the question so that I can find something out, they can learn and the public can benefit. So there is great value in questions.
But I realized I’ve been doing you a disservice.
I’m here to teach.
Hopefully you want to learn. And I don’t mean teach and learn in a school kind of context.
I’m still learning.
You know, when it comes to spirituality, if you want to take it to the absolute, then God is teaching everyone.
But some people are maybe a little bit further along and then they can help others. So I’m here to teach.
And answering questions is one part, but what about the other parts of that role? And so the change is that I’m going to address that.
So the show will go on, but I’m going to change the format and introduce more structure.
Just as a professor, you know, if you’re doing a course each week, they don’t just say, what are your questions? They have some structure.
So there will still be questions and answers, including the live chat.
And I just looked at the chat and marigold0 is saying, great news. Thank you, Mark. I think that’s in reply to number one, the show will go on.
So there will still be questions and answers, including the live chat. I really value that. And I think, well, I value it because it has value. Okay, so that will carry on.
But in addition, there will be teaching.
Don’t ask me how I will be guided.
I already have some ideas, but I’ll keep it vague at this point. Something to look forward to.
And there will be more exercises. Sorry, yeah, there will be more exercises. And I’ll put that in quotes. So spontaneously, in certain episodes, certain shows, I’ve talked about something and I’ve said, okay, look, close your eyes or take a deep breath or notice this. Notice what happens when you do this. That’s what I mean by exercises. Where to help us explore something we do. We do it in Other words, we don’t just talk about it. I’m going to start trying to introduce more experiential stuff. Not just talking about it, to try, let’s stop using the word try to make it so that if you turn up and you want to grow and learn. In other words, if you turn up and are receptive, then it won’t just be information, it will be experience of whatever we are discussing. Okay, so hopefully that’s good news. Hopefully, that sounds like something that would be of value. Now, I’m not making any commitment that that will be every week, but what I’m saying is it’s now there, it’s now my intention. And so I will, as I’m planning each episode, I’ll try, I’ll do my best to include relevant exercises where appropriate.
And anyone that used to come to my meditation classes, each lesson was lots of different things. But we won’t be doing meditation in the, in this live show. But the point is that that was all experience based. So somewhere between that kind of thing of all being, you know, like when people used to turn up the meditation class, we’d literally sit down, close our eyes, do stuff and then I’d guide them with my voice, bring them out, we’d have an exchange. What are you noticing? I’d listen to their feedback and then help them overcome if there were blocks and stuff. And then they go back in and it would be like being constantly worked with and guided to get deeper.
And years ago I did some work with a guy called Mick and he left a testimonial, I’ll put it in the links. And it was a wonderful testimonial because I didn’t realize he’d been doing TM transcendental meditation for about 25 years. And he said, he sat down with me and there was a couple of other people in the class. And this was when I used to live in Yorkshire.
And so I had a meditation teaching room in the top of my house. And so he sat there on a bean bag and a couple of other guys. And at the end he was just dumbfounded.
And he said, I’ve never, never been so still. And I had the camera set up for something else downstairs in the lounge. And I said, well, that’s amazing feedback. How do you feel about just saying that again in front of the camera? And so he was more than happy to. So press record. And off he went. And then he started saying, you know, I’ve done TM for 25 years. And I had, I had no idea. I Think it was maybe more than 25 years. And he said something beautiful. He said, I’ve. I’ve.
I’ve got. I’ve gone deeper or I’ve stiller or whatever it were. Words. He said, I’ve got more from the last two hours with Mark than I’ve got from 25 years of TM. And that was quite humbling. And the reason why I share it with you is at the core of everything that I do. And I said this right at the start of this episode.
Spirituality is experience, okay? So my job is to try and engender that, to help you to have the spiritual experience.
Now, I’m not talking about sensations and feelings, although sometimes that may be a part of it. I’m talking about something far deeper, much more profound, okay? And I can’t really put it into words. And that’s the point of an experience, is it’s there to be experienced, it’s not there to be discussed. And a great analogy is, look, have you ever ridden a motorbike?
You may have seen someone riding a motorbike on a film. You may have talked to someone who’s ridden a motorbike, but unless you’ve ridden a motorbike, you won’t know what it feels like, what the experience is.
So there’s the idea and the discussion and the philosophy and pictures and imagination, but then all of that moves aside and falls away when you’ve actually had experience, okay? And spirituality is an experiential journey. So going back to the slide, then there will be more exercises with the goal of making it more experiential. Okay? So hopefully that’s a good thing.
So I’ll also try and bring in each episode if I can, if it’s relevant.
Current spiritual affairs. Okay?
So is there something in the news or something going on in the world that we can look at from a spiritual perspective? And that’s because what spirituality is is sometimes hard to get a grasp of. And even if someone has the experience, how do they then translate that into everyday life? So by taking these things that are everyday life things, something in the news, something in a movie or whatever, it is something that you and others can all discuss because it’s something that we all collectively can experience down here. So an event, news or whatever, by having that as a focal point for what you’re experiencing and growing into spiritually, it helps you bring it down. So there’s great value in taking worldly current affairs and looking at them through a spiritual lens. I think someone used the phrase spiritual, spiritual lens earlier in one of the bits of feedback. But that. That’s what I’m going to also bring into the live show, moving forwards. So is there anything else? Because that’s quite a bit there.
So specials and guests.
So Nick, who you may have seen in the last episode or a few episodes back, has been a guest a couple of times, three times, actually. And that’s, I think, really a lot of fun and very informative because when we’re discussing things, you guys get two people’s perspective. And Nick’s someone that’s been on kind of a parallel spiritual journey as well, so he’s got a lot of insights. And he’s also someone that I trust with his, you know, the. That his head and his heart are both in the right place and screwed on.
So we will continue to have guests because I think if it’s really actually helpful so that it’s not just Mark as well give you guys a break, but also to bring in other people’s perspectives.
So I may be approaching some of you in the future and inviting you to be a part of the show. And if you. If you’re watching this and you think, oh, I tell you what, tell you who’d be really good on there or who. Who’d be interesting, or maybe we can get this person involved, then get in touch with me and we can talk offline and see if it would work and see what, you know, talk about it and if it’s something that we can do moving forwards. What I’m saying here is that I would very much like to bring more people in and get more perspective, you know, because we’re all learning. Okay, so. So anything else? Because that seems like quite a lot. Oh, by the way, the specials is. I’m working on a few projects at the moment, and these are video projects. I may bring them into the live show. So it’s almost like we watch something together and then we discuss it, type things, or may do them as a separate thing where it’s still done as a live show, but it’s kind of like a premiere. So we all watch it live for the first time together. And we can chat in the live, chat about what we’re, you know, what’s coming up, and then maybe follow it up with a live show where we discuss it. But the point is that there’s a couple of projects that, you know, there’s not many hours in a day, guys.
So when I find the time, then I will press on with some of these projects.
So last but not least, it’s your show. We’re coming up to an hour anyway, so I have these questions for you.
Okay. What do you want less of?
There should be another one there. So let’s just see if we’ve lost it.
Okay? Yeah, there we go. What do you want more of?
We’ll start with that. What do you want more of?
What do you want less of?
And how can I help you to share this with more people?
Okay, so obviously, take these questions away, think about it and get back to me. Where am I going with this?
This show is.
I sent an email out and in it I said, look, I’m not trying to talk to the masses. I’m trying to talk to the awake or words to that effect. In other words, for those who are ready and if you’re listening, then you know you are. But for those who have, it’s like for those who have ears to hear, then I speak.
I may have shared this story with you, but years ago, I did a walk-through video. I built a camper van. It was actually a mini motorhome from scratch. And this is 2009. So before the whole hashtag vanlife thing really took off.
And I put it up on YouTube and forgot about it. And when I came Back to it, 76,000 views, 700 plus subscribers.
And round about that time I put out a video. Well, a few years later, I put out a video about, sorry, let me correct myself, I built it in 2009, but I put the video out quite a few years later when I was coming to sell it.
So it would have been around about the same time that I did a video about light and sound meditation. Now, light and sound meditation was or is a very advanced form of meditation. It’s the most advanced form of meditation. And no one was really talking about it because it was all hush, hush. And so when I did that video, I was one of the first people to publicly talk about it. And that video, after many years, had about 3,000, 4,000 views. And that’s the point. If I wanted to just make content that would get tens of thousands of views. I just do videos about camper vans and motorhomes and things like that and get loads of followers because people love that. People want that appeals to the masses, spirituality.
I’m going to be controversial here, but spirituality isn’t for the masses.
No, that’s one of the big lies that has been sold to people, is that anyone can attain enlightenment. Anyone can be spiritual.
We’ve talked about a sliding scale of vibration. So there’s neutrality. And then there’s good and then there’s really good and then there’s spiritually awake and then. But going the other way, it drops down and you have, you know, not very good and then bad and then evil and dark and demonic and satanic, etc. Okay, people below the line, no chance of spirituality.
You know, now I’m talking truth.
You know, I’ve got it on my T shirt. It’s on the wall behind me. I’m not here to say stuff that has mass appeal. I’m here to appeal to truth and to speak the truth. I seek the truth so that I can speak the truth. And that isn’t popular.
Okay? Most people aren’t ready for it because at some point, and if we’re being honest, we’ve all been there at some point, the pursuit of truth means you have to let something go.
And if you can’t let go, then there’s friction between the information you’re given and your beliefs. Because ultimately it’s a belief that you’ve got to let go of. So there’s a lot of things on this journey. And I keep talking about the books that I’m writing. There’s a draft copy of one of them on the table behind me. I don’t know if you can see this, but the books that I’m writing, there it is. You can just see it behind me by the lamp. That big thick there is one of the books. So I talk about this. It’s very honest, and I say, look, this is what we understood. But then we dug deeper, we found out more, we discovered this, and that meant we had to let go of what we knew before. Because the only way to move forwards or deeper into truth is to be willing to let go. And that takes bravery and courage and neutrality and spiritual maturity. And so a show dedicated to speaking spiritual truth is never going to have mass appeal. And it’s not meant to. It’s meant to speak to the few who are ready.
So going back to the question I posed, which is, how can I help you share this with more people?
If you’re a spiritual person, then in your orbit around you will be other spiritual people. Because like attracts like.
And, you know, we’ve done a wide variety of shows already, so some of them, you may think, you know, that topic would really appeal to that person.
But there may be things that are holding you back from sharing it. Maybe the way it’s presented or that was done at a too deeper level or whatever you perceive. So I’m Asking you the question, how can I, as the person sitting here, help you to share this with more people? In other words, how can I help you to help more people to spiritually grow?
So that’s what I want you to think about. And then if stuff comes to you, let me know. And if it works, we’ll work into the show. It could just be something simple, or it could just be that you’ve not really thought about. How can I use this? Whether it’s a podcast or a live show, who can I share this with or who can I help?
Because it’s kind of like once the truth is spoken. So this is really, actually really important to understand.
When the truth is spoken, it doesn’t need to be defended.
People who get offended and need to defend probably aren’t anchored in truth.
Okay? But when a truth is spoken, if a person is good, if a person is spiritually awake to any degree because their spirit is involved, it resonates with truth.
Remember what I said? To seek the truth is to. To seek God. And where did your spirit come from? It’s a gift from God. So your spirit reacts to truth.
So every week we do the live show, and we drop a bit of a phrase, but we drop truth bombs, okay?
It can’t be unheard. It can’t be unseen. So if someone’s watched it, even if it challenged them, even if it shook them up, it’s still there. They can’t unknow that.
They might not in terms of their beliefs or where they are, be able to reconcile it, but the truth will be resonating in their spirit.
And because it’s now in them, it’s like gonna.
They’ve got a choice. They can fight against it or they can go with it. And if they go with it, they will grow spiritually. So anytime we share spiritual truth with others, we’re actually helping them. Now, the art is to do it in a compassionate way, not to beat people over the head with it.
So my job is to try and put things in a way that people at different levels could understand. So I’m talking to you at your level, but I’m also talking to people who aren’t as experienced and also people who are probably more experienced. So the truth will resonate with all of them, and it’s something really nice and profound. Someone. I’m pointing over there because one of my books is over there. But someone said, I read this book. You can just see it in the background. That one there.
I read it again. I haven’t read it in a year or two. And I read it again and I’m getting so much from it this time that I didn’t get last time. And it’s because wherever you are in your journey, when you read Trouble Truth, it resonates and it resonates with where you are now. So it’s quite a beautiful thing when you reread, you know, one of these books, but which are speaking spiritual truth and you get something new from it. It’s kind of. It’s kind of like, read this book every few years, you haven’t paid more for it. It’s one book, but every time you read it, it’s a different book. Why?
Because the truth is the truth is the truth. But you’ve changed.
So now you’re ready for more truth. Isn’t that beautiful? So I’ll leave you with that thought. How can I help you to share this with more people? That is, how can I help you to help more people to spiritually wake up and grow? And on that note, I don’t believe that there’s anything more. No, that is the end of the the Things for today. So it’s, it’s not been the typical show, but I felt it was a good way to honor the 51 episodes and literally hundreds of questions that you guys have asked and draw a line underneath it. And I’m not going to put myself under pressure.
My goal is next week, Thursday usual time. I’ll be here, but there’s things I need to prepare for. These changes that we’ve discussed. For these changes that we’ve discussed.

00:09:57 Introduction

Episode 52 and it’s (still) all about TRUTH. I take a step back and explain why seeking the truth is so important and why it is connected to God, the Source and why some people freak out over the word “God”.

00:14:44 The Human Intelligence Charter

I reflect on Nik’s work on AI from episode 51. I then reveal a new page on our website that displays the Human Intelligence Charter. I explain how I got the words for this charter from “higher up“.

00:22:05 Looking back over the last year

I share feedback from the public on how the show has helped people to become more spiritual and to get closer to God. We explore the difference between being religious and being spiritual. That for some people there may be overlap. But importantly you can be spiritual without religion.

Prompted by one person’s feedback, I talked a bit about presenting the live show the day after my mother had passed away, only having had to do the same the day after my dog had died. Life is the greatest teacher.

I share with you the value of the Live Show from my perspective, and it’s not what you might think. I explain why I’m not hosting a live show but rather there is something more profound going on. A question from another person triggers me to explain why I really do the show and what motivates me. I also share how much out of my comfort zone I was during the first few episodes.

00:40:40 Drawing a line. What does the future hold?

I share how I’m guided to do the show and that I was willing to stop doing the live show if it wasn’t serving a greater good. We discuss how the show is going to change and grow, to provide more structured teaching and exercises, to help you with your spiritual growth. Importantly I I intend to bring in more experience-based opportunities for spiritual growth.

00:57:57 How can I help you to help others?

We end with a discussion about the fact that this is your live show. And I want you to be able to share it with others because it’s helpful, useful, inspiring, relevant and so forth. So how can I help you to be able to help other people?

I say something potentially very controversial, which is about spirituality and the masses. I share insights into why the TRUTH resonates with people who are spiritual, whereas people who are not spiritual may be challenged by the truth.
